The newcomer was none other than Shajin.
He casually dragged over a chair and sat down.
"Lord Morax, you're not letting the Fatui intervene—are you hiding something from us?"
Zhongli said nothing, as if he hadn't heard him at all, calmly sipping his tea.
Shajin narrowed his eyes. A bad feeling began to settle in his chest.
"Wait… Morax, you're not scheming against me, are you?"
A subtle, nearly imperceptible smirk tugged at Zhongli's lips. He didn't give a direct answer.
"Relax. This benefits you too."
Shajin's mouth twitched.
"You didn't deny it. So you are using me~"
…
The cannons on the Jade Chamber were like tickles to Osial—hardly even a nuisance.
But the Guizhong Ballistas were a different story. They inflicted real damage.
Osial pressed forward, bearing the brunt of the Guizhong Ballistas.
"Morax's followers—tell me! Where is Beisht?!"
Back when Osial was still sealed away, he had sensed the sudden severing of his connection to his wife, Beisht.
There was only one explanation for that, though Osial refused to accept it.
"Answer me! Humans!!!"
Everyone aboard the Jade Chamber exchanged uneasy looks.
Inside, Lumine couldn't help but mutter silently to herself: No way we can just tell him your wife died three years ago, right…?
Seeing no one answer, Osial's rage spiraled out of control.
"ROAR!!!"
Keqing shouted, "Everyone, get ready!"
A massive waterspout swirled around Osial, slowly closing in on the Jade Chamber—on the verge of colliding.
"Hmph! Petty tricks!"
The voice of Cloud Retainer rang out, and the other two Adepti immediately understood.
The three Guizhong Ballistas synchronized and launched a joint strike, tearing the approaching twister to pieces. Without pause, they surged toward Osial once more.
The vortex surrounding Osial intensified, spiraling into an enormous waterspout that blotted out the sky, crashing toward the Jade Chamber like an overwhelming tide.
Wherever it passed, the sea surged, rising into a towering wall of water, thunderous and unstoppable.
Faced with such a devastating attack, the defenders' expressions grew grim.
The other two Adepti moved in sync, swiftly adjusting the Guizhong Ballistas' angles to counter Osial's attack.
All three siege engines roared simultaneously, their barrels gleaming as they gathered immense energy.
Osial's waterspout collided with the Ballistas' blasts midair—producing a deafening explosion.
Those aboard the Jade Chamber felt the shockwave as if the world itself were trembling.
The twister shattered, dispersing into a thousand fragments of mist.
But the Guizhong Ballistas didn't stop—they pressed forward, still building power and momentum.
Osial finally felt threatened. His fury swelled even further.
All five of his heads opened wide and unleashed a unified roar.
It was like a thunderclap, splitting the skies and shaking the heavens.
The people aboard the Jade Chamber were rattled, their ears ringing and vision blurring.
The roar carried unrelenting wrath and immense power. Osial's massive form grew even larger.
From each mouth, water orbs formed and then converged, launching high into the air.
…
Paimon scratched her head in confusion.
"Is it just me, or does this 'Overlord of the Vortex' have really bad aim?"
Xiao narrowed his eyes.
"Watch out!"
High in the sky, the massive orb exploded—splitting into countless water droplets that rained down like arrows.
"Demon-Slaying Dance!"
Xiao leapt into the air, dashing between droplets. His Primordial Jade Spear shattered them one after another.
Still, a few slipped through his guard.
Ganyu raised her bow, firing ice-charged arrows that froze the water projectiles midair.
Shenhe followed up, breaking them apart with her spear.
The Guizhong Ballistas continued their assault, barrels glowing brightly as they amassed even more power.
Water elemental energy surged around Osial, condensing into a high-density barrier like an invisible hand squeezing the moisture into a shimmering blue shield.
It withstood the Ballistas' laser fire.
Yet the Ballistas kept firing—each shot like a falling meteor, radiant with destructive force.
Cracks began to web across the shield.
As time passed, the fractures multiplied until the barrier finally shattered.
A piercing beam broke through and struck Osial's body directly.
Though injured, Osial's fury only escalated.
All five heads' eyes burned red with murderous rage.
He roared again, louder than ever—so intense it dispersed the very clouds above.
His fury peaked. His titanic body trembled, and the surrounding sea churned violently in response.
A terrifying aura radiated from him, threatening to devour the entire world.
Still, the Guizhong Ballistas didn't stop.
Shells rained upon him, each impact shaking his colossal form.
But Osial refused to fall. His presence only grew more menacing, and the ocean itself seemed to boil from the power he exuded.
The Ballistas' assault was becoming increasingly difficult—yet they pressed on, relentless.
The barrels pulsed, readying an even greater strike.
Three beams converged midair.
BOOM!
ROAR!!!
Osial screamed in agony, regaining a sliver of rationality.
"Is this… Morax's power?!"
Even the faintest trace—he could recognize it. These three Guizhong Ballistas were absolutely imbued with Morax's divine essence!
"I've broken free. There's no way Morax wouldn't show up to seal me again."
"Unless…"
Osial suddenly burst into crazed laughter.
"Morax! Have you finally… died?!"
