Synopsis

“I suddenly discovered that this world is dangerous today.” Bai Zhi looked grave as he typed out a line of text on his computer.

“When I went out today, I came across some poor guy getting bitten by another person. Luckily, a few brave guys rushed out to bring the criminal to justice, but when the person who was bitten struggled to stand up, he was immediately beaten to the ground by one of those who had supposedly saved him—and then, they called the police! I’ve watched more than enough modern movies to know what happened. The zombie was taken out before the virus could spread.”

“Last time, you told us about a few guys saving humanity from an alien invasion… This time, it’s a zombie outbreak?”

There was an exasperated response from the chat box.

“So how was that dangerous?”

“There are also several girls who are fighting tooth and nail for a piece of me! It’s totally Hell in here, don’t you think it’s dangerous!?”

“???”

This is an extremely good mystery-fantasy story, which to my disappointment, has no running translation.

ORIGINAL NAME: Underworld Player (修罗场玩家)

This is an book that is much like My House of Horrors, especially how its uses horror elements to (kind of)terrorize the readers but at the same time, create hilarious shenigans.

The Mc is very similar to Chen Ge and that honestly makes the book very damn fun to read

As this novel has been translated upto 121 chapters around already, I would just reupload them here. Some of the reuploaded Chapters would be double chapters. I have added a review with more details about what kind of story this is exactly, so you can check that out

Once we done there, I would expect to keep 1-2 chapter per day as schedule.

Hi everyone, I'm picking up Shura Field Player(originally titled Underworld Player) because the original translation on HostedNovel hasn’t seen an update in over two years. First and foremost, I want to thank the original translator for their excellent work on the first 121 chapters. Their translation was what pulled me into the story in the first place, and without that effort, I wouldn’t be here continuing it. A big thank you also goes to the author, whose chaotic, genre-bending fever dream of a novel continues to surprise me even after 1,600 chapters. As the first 121 chapters are already available in English, I’ll be reuploading them here exactly as-is, without any monetization. Now, what kind of novel is Underworld Player? It’s a slow-burn isekai with game elements and an MC who’s super intelligent, deeply pragmatic, and trapped in the body of his massively problematic parallel self. That version of him? A scumbag gacha addict who’s left a trail of seven ex-girlfriends and a mountain of emotional debt. The story doesn’t immediately throw all of them at you—several don’t show up until hundreds of chapters in—but when they do, things get… complicated. The tone shifts frequently between dark humor, emotional introspection, and utter absurdity. There are doll castles, expired lolis, deadbeat mentors, ancient monsters, and stalker exes all circling a protagonist who refuses to take romantic responsibility—until someone else makes the first move. The MC’s cheat ability is subtle, but his charisma isn't. He steps on toes, breaks expectations, and somehow gets kissed by girls (some of whom look like children but are not) more often than you'd expect in a novel that also spends thousands of words on world-building and moral ambiguity. Pacing-wise, the story rewards patience. The early chapters build character chemistry slowly, but the “Doll Castle” mini-arc is a good litmus test. If you’re not enjoying it by then, this story likely isn’t for you. As for the setting—it’s weird. It’s kind of like our world, but riddled with SCP-like anomalies and ruled by mysterious game-like systems. Players are humanity’s last hope against the unknown, and figuring out what this world really is takes hundreds of chapters. At around 600 chapters are so, the raw's I have get a bit inconsistent so there can be some hiccups there, but that's a long way to go from here. Enjoy the ride
