Volume 1 Chapter 10: This Is Bad

"Yo~ Nice ass!"

In the evening, inside the dorm, Ning Chu was leaning over his desk, checking the laptop's network cable, when—smack!—someone slapped him on the butt.

Without thinking, he turned around and kicked.

"OW—damn it!"

Zhang Shaoqing dodged out of the way, yelping, but was quickly grinning again as he scooted back over.

"C'mon, let's go grab some fruit! Don't you want watermelon in this heat?"

"Can't you just order delivery?"

"That's expensive! And I'd have to buy a knife too…"

"What about fruit salad?"

"Still pricey—and not always fresh."

Seriously, what kind of rich kid nickel-and-dimes like this over a few yuan?

Ning Chu rolled his eyes, too lazy to argue. After double-checking that his laptop had internet, he turned to his wardrobe and tiptoed to peek inside, looking for clean clothes to wear after his nightly shower.

During military training, he had to shower twice a day.

But this time, his movements were slower, his expression a bit uncertain.

When he'd showered at noon, he was sure he'd felt some soft new growth on his chest. It had startled him—but since break time was short, he hadn't had time to investigate further.

'Tonight, I need to take a proper look…'

As he mulled things over—

Smack!

Again?! Zhang Shaoqing, you handsy idiot!

Annoyed, Ning Chu spun around—only to find it was Wen Yang this time.

Oh. The main character. That's different.

I need to stay on good terms with him anyway. If I ever need help breaking the plot later, Wen Yang will be the best ally.

"Stop grabbing people!" he scolded, glaring at Wen Yang. Then he softened his tone: "If you're planning to run for class president tomorrow, you should probably talk to some classmates in advance."

"Yeah, I've already started," Wen Yang said with a sunny grin. "Most of the girls in our class said they'll vote for me."

Tch. Must be nice to be handsome.

Ning Chu gave Wen Yang a jealous once-over.

The guy was only wearing a pair of loose gym shorts. His skin was a healthy tan from constant sun exposure, muscles firm and well-defined. Eight clear abs lined his stomach, and those sleek obliques formed a sharp V-line near his waist.

A body like that, with such a handsome face... damn.

It reminded Ning Chu of fitness ads from his old world—like Eddie Peng's workout posters.

Why couldn't I be the one to transmigrate as the main character? Why do I have to be the one who gets violated...

Even being a villain would've been better!

His eyes drifted toward Zhang Shaoqing.

Sure, Zhang didn't have the same buff physique as Wen Yang, but that face of his—clean, bright, effortlessly attractive—would've been enough to make him a social media influencer back in his old world.

Now back to himself…

Skinny arms and legs, a face like a little boy who hadn't hit puberty, even his voice was androgynous. He barely weighed over 100 pounds.

Ugh. If he wasn't rooming with Wang Jie, the human potato, he'd be the weakest one here.

Resigned, Ning Chu sighed and grabbed his pajamas, ready to head for the shower.

But as soon as he turned around, he saw Zhang Shaoqing snatch a pair of underwear and sprint into the bathroom.

"What's his problem...?"

"That's just how he is," Wen Yang chuckled, leaning against Ning Chu's bunk bed, fiddling with his phone. Then, hesitantly, he said, "Hey Ning Chu... could you help me narrow something down?"

"Narrow down what?"

"My girlfriend options," Wen Yang said, scratching his head in frustration. "Even girls from other classes added me on social media. They're sending me photos and asking me to be their boyfriend."

Apparently, he'd been so strictly raised that he hadn't even held a girl's hand before college. Now, surrounded by eager admirers, he was completely overwhelmed.

"…"

Ning Chu could only stare at him, eyes wide and very sour.

"What's there to narrow down? Just say yes to all of them!" Wang Jie shouted from the side.

Ning Chu didn't hesitate—he grabbed an empty bottle and chucked it at him.

"Shut up already!"

"Yes to all" your ass.

If Wen Yang got a taste of love now, it would be way harder to stop him from sneaking off for overnight dates in the future—just like what happened in the novel.

"No way. I've barely even talked to girls before—just one of them is already too much for me," Wen Yang sighed, running a hand through his short hair. "Like yesterday, with Ling Ling. We were just eating in the cafeteria and she randomly blew up at me. I seriously don't get women."

'No wonder you agreed to break up with her so quickly.'

'Still, if Ling Ling got mad like that, it was probably because you didn't "satisfy" her.'

After all, she's a supporting female character from a hentai novel. Her reasons for anger usually boil down to frustrated desires.

"Women are boring anyway. Games are way better," Ning Chu muttered, sneaking in his personal bias in the hopes of brainwashing Wen Yang.

"Just think about it—hundreds of people spent millions of dollars to make a game just for you to play. Isn't that better than dealing with a woman? Even duo queueing with me is more fun than dating!"

Wen Yang blinked, turning his head. "Yeah, right. Playing games with you feels like prison."

"That's only because I haven't practiced much yet!"

Ning Chu's male pride flared. No matter how terrible his score—even if he was 0 kills and 16 deaths—he would never admit he sucked.

Crossing his arms, he pouted stubbornly.

"Give me two more weeks. Once I get used to the game, I'll carry you."

This world had similar competitive games—like LOL and CSGO—but since he was unfamiliar with the local characters and mechanics, he needed time to adapt, even if he'd played the games in his past life.

"I used to be Diamond I," he muttered as he launched the game, but then he sharply lifted his head and squinted toward Wen Yang.

Wen Yang quickly averted his eyes, awkwardly rubbing his nose.

From Wen Yang's angle, he'd been looking down and happened to catch a glimpse through Ning Chu's wide neckline—spotting the pale, delicate collarbones and a faint curve beneath them, almost like a subtle rise and fall.

'You good?'

'Why are you staring at me like that?'

Ning Chu felt an overwhelming discomfort crawl up his back.

Just then, Zhang Shaoqing came back into the room, dripping wet from his shower. Ning Chu grabbed his pajamas, jumped to his feet, and darted out toward the balcony—accidentally shoulder-checking Zhang Shaoqing as he passed.

"Damn!" Zhang Shaoqing was about to curse him out, but Ning Chu was already gone, slamming the door shut behind him.

Grumbling, Zhang Shaoqing muttered, "What the hell's his problem? Changing pads or something? Why the hell's he sprinting around the dorm like that?"

Inside the bathroom, Ning Chu stood naked on the cold tiles, staring down at his chest in silence.

Still flat, by male standards, anyway.

He pressed his hands against his chest, frowning as he felt the now-familiar tenderness under the skin—and that distinct, soft texture.

Yup. No doubt about it. He's growing.

Could he be intersex? Was he originally a girl all along?

But girls didn't develop this fast, right? It's only been a few days and he was already growing visible... meat.

He spread his legs slightly, glancing downward.

Now that he thought about it—his little guy hadn't once "perked up" since transmigrating. Not even during morning wood, which should've happened daily.

And it wasn't like he was some sage-like monk. His brain was full of filthy thoughts from time to time, and he definitely had urges. He just didn't act on them.

"Guess this really is punishment for screwing with the plot..."

"This is bad. Seriously bad."
