Volume 1 Chapter 12: Class Committee

Ning Chu spent the entire day in a daze.

Maybe it was all the "perverted trash" stuffed into his brain the night before. Maybe it was all the overthinking before bed. Either way, he barely slept. And as soon as he finally dozed off, the nightmares began.

Once again, he dreamed of turning into a girl—sandwiched between Wen Yang and Zhang Shaoqing, one on each side.

Horrifying. Absolutely horrifying.

Normally, waking up in the middle of a dream would break it. But last night, every time he woke with a start, the nightmare picked right back up where it left off the moment he fell asleep again.

It left him groggy and miserable the next morning.

"This is killing me..."

With his brain a foggy mess, Ning Chu stumbled through the day's military training like a zombie, and followed his classmates into Classroom D203 for the evening meeting.

The room was utterly ordinary—rows of old desks and chairs crammed together without care.

He randomly chose a seat and slumped over the desk, cheek pressed to the cool surface, half-lidded eyes gazing lazily toward the front where the class homeroom teacher stood.

"Let me reintroduce myself, in case any of you forgot."

The homeroom teacher turned to write his name and phone number on the blackboard.

"If it's something small, message me in the group chat. If it's something big—call me."

Han Jingye?

Nice-sounding name. Clean-cut, well-dressed, scholarly vibe...

But was this before or after he started preying on female students like in the novel?

"Next, anyone interested in running for class committee, please come up and give a brief speech."

Ning Chu yawned and turned his face, letting the cold desk surface cool his skin.

If it weren't for his suspicions about Han Jingye, he wouldn't give two shits about this whole class committee thing.

"Wen Yang."

"Hmm?"

Wen Yang glanced down at the puff-cheeked, sleepy-faced boy slumped beside him.

Ning Chu thought for a moment before mumbling,

"If you end up on the committee, keep an eye on the girls who spend time with the homeroom teacher."

"Oh? Thinking of dating someone? Why specifically those girls?"

There was no way to explain his baseless suspicions, so Ning Chu just gave a vague hum in reply—and fell silent, refusing to elaborate.

"You sure you don't want to try running yourself?" Wen Yang asked. "Being on the committee's good practice. You're kinda introverted, it might help you open up."

"No thanks."

He could barely manage his own mess, let alone take on responsibility for the class.

He had considered using a committee position to get close to Han Jingye and investigate... but now that Wen Yang is here, why not let him take the risk?

And as Ning Chu expected, once Wen Yang went up to run, the results were basically guaranteed.

No surprises: Wen Yang was elected class president.

As for the two vice presidents: one was a tall, energetic wolf girl with a dominant vibe, and the other a friendly, outgoing boy-next-door.

Ning Chu's attention was all on the wolf girl.

Her big, fluffy tail swayed like a toy windmill the moment her name was announced, and when it wagged hard enough, it actually stirred the air—blowing a breeze into Ning Chu's face from meters away.

Even a fan wasn't that efficient!

"Not bad, huh? The vice president's got it going on,"

Zhang Shaoqing leaned over, elbowing Ning Chu with a creepy smirk.

"Check out those abs~ Those thighs~ Damn~"

"She could probably knock me out with one punch..."

That little tank top and those shorts showcased every muscle on her tall, toned frame. Ning Chu sincerely doubted he'd survive one direct hit.

As if hearing their conversation, her wolf ears twitched—then she turned around and stared straight at him.

Shit—her hearing's that good?!

Ning Chu immediately ducked, flopping down on the desk and shrinking behind Wang Jie's broader back.

"Don't be scared," Zhang Shaoqing chuckled. "What's her name again?"

"How should I know? I didn't listen to any of their speeches."

He'd nearly fallen asleep back then.

Zhang laughed gleefully.

"Serves you right for talking behind her back."

"I was just joking! Besides, your comments were way worse!"

"I was complimenting her body."

Thankfully, the wolf girl didn't seem too bothered. Her ears twitched once more, and she continued chatting with her friends—tail still wagging, brushing the air like a metronome.

Ning Chu finally relaxed and exhaled.

Just look at her—tall, muscular, and full of energy.

And then look at himself—frail arms, soft frame, and a face like a barely-pubescent boy.

Not manly at all.

Ning Chu didn't bother complaining about his looks anymore—there was no use. He didn't even have the motivation to work out to change anything.

If it weren't for the terrifying possibility of turning into a girl and getting thoroughly filled, he'd happily coast through life as a laid-back salted fish.

Besides, even if a 160cm guy did get ripped, it wasn't like anyone would be impressed.

"Alright, class reps stay behind. Everyone else, you're dismissed," Han Jingye finally said.

The classroom instantly erupted into chaos. Students rushed for the door like wild animals.

"From now on, class meetings will usually be held here—"

Before he could even finish his sentence, the room had emptied out, leaving only the three newly elected class committee members… and Ning Chu, who was just now rising from his seat with a yawn.

Groggy and confused, he glanced around and finally settled his gaze on Wen Yang.

"Wait for me? We can head to the cafeteria together."

"Sure."

Ning Chu slumped back down, laying his head on his arms and pretending to nap—but his ears were wide open, listening intently to everything Han Jingye was saying. He didn't want to miss even the tiniest detail.

Last night, he'd gone back through the original novel, searching for any storylines involving the class homeroom teacher.

He only found one disturbing subplot:

Han Jingye lured an outstanding female student to "offer herself" in exchange for a scholarship.

The crucial detail was that he'd used things like scholarships as bait…

'What a scumbag.'

"Tonight, gather everyone's info. Fill out the class roster and send it to me."

"Wen Yang, starting tomorrow, you'll take daily attendance. Report anyone late or absent."

"Buy two crates of water and bread every day during training. Get more if we run low. Also, I bought a sunshade umbrella—grab it from the office tomorrow so you all have somewhere cool to rest."

Damn it. Nothing useful.

On the contrary, Han Jingye was starting to seem… kind of responsible?

"Let's go," Wen Yang tapped the desk lightly with his knuckle. "Meeting's over—time for dinner."

"You didn't sleep well last night, did you?"

"You looked spaced out all day."

Ning Chu yawned and stretched both arms over his head.

"Yeah, not really."

While responding casually, he kept one eye subtly on Han Jingye, who was tidying up the podium.

Ever since the meeting started, Ning Chu had been carefully watching him—trying to see who he was interested in, which female students he looked at too long.

But… Why did the homeroom teacher keep looking at him?

Speeding up his pace to catch up with Wen Yang, Ning Chu leaned close and whispered,

"Did you notice? The homeroom teacher kept looking at me."

"Maybe he's wondering how a girl ended up in the boys' dorm," Wen Yang replied calmly.

"…"

Ning Chu was speechless.

Wen Yang chuckled, then looked down at Ning Chu's clean, delicate face—no makeup, no filter.

"With your height and looks, it'd be weirder if people didn't stare."

"Fair point…"

"You're really fixated on the homeroom teacher, huh?"

Ning Chu paused.

"Is it that obvious?"

"Mhm… don't tell me—you've got a crush on him?"

"I— cough cough cough!!"

Ning Chu nearly choked on air. He hacked violently, face turning bright red as he tried to recover. After what felt like forever, he finally managed to rasp out,

"I like women, dammit!"

What the hell?! Even the mild-mannered Wen Yang was starting to tease him now?

Clearly, Zhang Shaoqing was a bad influence!
