Volume 1 Chapter 16: Wen Yang Is Missing!

Zhang Shaoqing's family situation was… complicated.

Although there hadn't been much detail in the novel, after spending time together, Ning Chu had come to understand a bit.

His parents were divorced, and he lived with his mother. But she was extremely controlling—so much so that she called every night to check on his daily schedule. She even wanted to plan out all his meals.

Both parents came from business families, so money had never been a problem. But his mother's obsessive control had clearly become a deep emotional burden.

After showering, Ning Chu stepped back into the dorm from the balcony—only to find that Zhang Shaoqing was already gone.

"He went home?"

Wang Jie passed by with a bundle of clothes, heading to the bathroom. "Yeah, left like two minutes ago."

"Oh... okay."

Ning Chu muttered to himself and tossed his dirty laundry into a bucket. Then he walked over to the mirror, picked up a dry towel, and began roughly drying his damp hair.

He caught a glimpse of his reflection—dressed in nothing but a thin, silky pajama shirt.

His bangs just brushed his eyebrows, and the hair on the sides had started to curl past his ears. Maybe it was time for a haircut this weekend.

After the shower, his already fair complexion looked even cleaner. His skin seemed to reflect the dorm light, smooth and radiant.

He had a soft oval face, cheeks still rounded with a bit of baby fat, and delicate, almost pretty features. But honestly, he looked too young.

According to his ID, he was a college freshman—over 18—but his face could only be described as that of a teenage boy.

After seeing the baby-faced girl in class who had a ridiculously developed figure, he'd come to terms with his own "shota" face.

This was a hentai world, after all—of course it was full of gorgeous guys and girls of every type.

In a few more years, once he grew into his features, Ning Chu was confident he'd be just as handsome as the protagonist.

His face, at least, was fine. But when his gaze dropped past his neck, his eyes landed on his delicate collarbones… and the two obvious little red dots on his chest.

And around them—just barely—his chest had started to swell slightly. When he showered, he could even feel the soft weight there.

A week ago, there'd only been the little red dots, but ever since he completely destroyed the first arc, the flesh there had begun to develop—and it hadn't stopped. It even seemed to be growing.

'Is breaking the plotline making me more and more like a girl?'

'Will I eventually turn into a girl...?'

He'd suspected it for a while now.

But he still wasn't ready to choose between "becoming a girl and getting railed" and "just becoming a girl."

If he had it his way, he'd pick neither.

"Hey, Ning Chu, are you using the washing machine?" Wen Yang's head popped in from the balcony. "I'm too lazy to hand-wash my clothes this weekend."

"Sure, I can use it."

Each dorm floor had a shared hot water room and laundry area, but Ning Chu had always avoided the coin-operated washers.

They just felt gross.

"My clothes are in the bucket—grab them for me too. Coins are in the drawer."

Ning Chu rarely turned down requests from the protagonist. So he agreed without much thought. Grabbing both buckets and the coins, he headed toward the door.

But right as he reached it, his steps paused.

He looked down at his chest—at the two very visible red dots beneath his thin pajama shirt, and the faint swell around them.

It was fine in the dorm. Even if the guys teased him sometimes, they were all used to each other by now.

But out in public? What if someone stared at him...?

Just thinking about it made him want to crawl into a hole.

He turned back, grabbed a jacket from the wardrobe, and finally headed for the laundry room—keeping an eye out for any characters who might be involved in the plot.

There were plenty of good-looking guys wandering the halls. He even saw a girl shamelessly flirting with her boyfriend right there in the corridor.

But without knowing people's names, it was almost impossible to tell who was a novel character just from their face.

Once in the laundry room, Ning Chu's attention was immediately drawn to a man crouching beside a machine, wrench in hand.

A middle-aged man.

The dorm supervisor uncle.

Ning Chu's lips twitched, and he quickly looked away, pretending he hadn't seen him.

This uncle... was kind of involved in a certain side plot of the novel...

But really—this hentai world was completely over-the-top.

That dorm supervisor uncle, clearly in his forties or fifties, had bulging muscles on his arms, a strong, sturdy build, and a rugged face weathered by time. He was handsome in a mature, manly way—oozing that "older guy" charisma.

This must be what people meant when they talked about a "true uncle type."

Technically, this side character's plotline had nothing to do with Ning Chu. But he still couldn't help wondering if he could sabotage the guy's happy ending.

At this point, he'd pretty much declared war on whatever "god" had dumped him into this ridiculous world.

He dumped all the dirty clothes into the machine, dropped in the coins, and waited to make sure it started running. Then, once it was whirring away, he couldn't resist glancing over at the dorm supervisor again.

And…

Their eyes locked.

"…"

Ning Chu's heart jumped. He quickly looked away and lowered his head, trying to slip out of the laundry room as fast as possible.

After all, he'd just been standing there thinking about how to ruin this uncle's love life.

"Wait! Which dorm are you from?"

Just as he was about to step out, a deep voice called from behind.

His scalp went numb. Instinctively, he replied, "203, Ning Chu."

"Oh..."

The supervisor paused, thinking back to registration day. That particularly petite freshman had left quite an impression.

He'd seen plenty of handsome guys and pretty girls before—but this delicate-looking 18-year-old "shota" type was rare.

He looked Ning Chu up and down again. With his slim frame and pretty face, he almost looked like a girl. Only after squinting at the brow and jawline could you tell he was male. Barely.

"You look like you saw a ghost," the uncle grumbled as he returned to repairing the washer. "What are you so nervous about? I thought someone was sneaking a girl in or something."

Ning Chu stood stiff under the man's gaze, gave an awkward laugh, and bolted as soon as the attention shifted away.

Storming back into the dorm room, Ning Chu pushed the door open and dropped into his chair. Chin in hand, he gnawed on his fingernail and began listing all his current problems.

The scumbag homeroom teacher Han Jingye—already had Wen Yang planted as a spy to keep tabs. Just needed to be patient.

The dorm supervisor's subplot was technically consensual romance, but if he could help it, Ning Chu hoped no storylines would play out in this world.

Zhang Shaoqing was still an unstable variable, but at least for now, he seemed decent.

That left the protagonist, Wen Yang—

Wait. Where the hell is Wen Yang?!

Ning Chu's mind screeched to a halt. He quickly turned to glance at Wen Yang's desk—empty.

Then he popped up and peered at Wen Yang's bed. Still empty.

"What are you doing?" Wang Jie asked, glancing away from his game in confusion.

"Where's Wen Yang?!" Ning Chu's voice was full of panic.

He looked like a headless chicken, rushing around the dorm and checking every corner.

Wang Jie scratched his head, puzzled. "He just went out a bit ago."

"Went where?!"

"How should I know?"

Fuck! A diversion tactic?! He sent him to the laundry room as a cover and snuck out?!
