Hyakuretsu's face was pale and bloodless as he stared at the corpses scattered around them.
"Why? Why are you suddenly so strong? Your Nen hasn't changed," he asked, looking up at Loki.
"Boss! Run!" The remaining three, excluding Hyakuretsu, released their shared ability and fled in different directions.
"Too late!"
Loki turned, raising his knife towards one of the fleeing men.
Hyakuretsu's eyes widened; he tried to stop Loki, but before he could take a step, Loki's icy voice echoed.
"Execute him. Godspeed."
Suddenly, Hyakuretsu saw a white light shoot from Loki's hand, piercing his companion's chest.
"Execute him. Godspeed," Loki repeated, his blade now aimed at the second fleeing man.
"No!"
"Three minutes left." Loki sat amidst the corpses, sheathing his Godspeed.
After killing Hyakuretsu and his group, more people came to challenge him—a few dozen until the next morning.
Their strength varied; some were Nen users, others were ordinary people, thinking a machine gun could kill Loki.
Loki had lost interest in them.
Zenki and Goki killed them before they even saw Loki, leaving their bodies at the construction site entrance to warn others.
But more fools kept coming.
Loki jumped from the pile of corpses, looking at Pakunoda, who was preparing to leave. He checked the time.
Ding! 'Mission Complete.' 'World Enemy I' 'Mission Completion Evaluation' 'Reward: One A-Class Lottery. Choose to draw or continue.'
Loki paused. Continue? He could continue the mission? Usually, the system drew the reward without asking. 'Continue,' Loki thought.
Ding! 'World Enemy series mission continues.
Each completed mission increases the reward level. You can cancel or continue until the highest reward level is reached.'
'World Enemy II: Go to the Hunter Association's upcoming Twelve Zodiacs meeting and declare war on the Association.'
'Mission reward: Reward level increases with each completed mission.'
Loki stopped. 'Declare war on the Hunter Association?'
This was trouble! He could be killed by Netero.
But with his heightened state and Godspeed, even if he wasn't Netero's match, escaping wouldn't be a problem.
He wanted to meet Netero.
Since the wanted poster appeared, Loki had wanted to meet Netero. He had questions for him.
They had a teacher-student relationship, although Netero hadn't formally accepted him as a student, only requiring him to call him "Chairman," not "Master."
"What? Still not leaving?" Pakunoda asked, looking back at Loki.
Back at his residence, Loki pondered the second mission. Going alone to the Hunter Association was dangerous.
He only had Pakunoda and Baise. Even Pakunoda wasn't that strong.
Their abilities weren't combat-oriented.
He thought of someone else—Hisoka. Loki called Hisoka. A cheering sound came from the phone.
Loki paused. "Hisoka, what are you doing?"
"Heaven's Arena match!" Hisoka replied languidly. After his duel with Chrollo, Hisoka was bored.
Gon and Killua weren't strong enough to kill Loki yet, and Hisoka hadn't figured out how to defeat Loki.
"What do you want?" Hisoka asked, completely ignoring his opponent while on the phone.
Just as Loki was about to speak, Hisoka said, "Hold on, that idiot's charging.
Let me deal with him." A series of blows followed, then cheers from the audience.
"Done. What is it?"
"Come with me, Hisoka."
"Where?"
"The Hunter Association."
Hisoka paused. His opponent escaped.
Hisoka frowned. "You're a wanted criminal, Loki. Surrendering?"
"I'm still a Hunter! Going to the Association isn't unusual!"
"Your purpose?"
"The Chairman's calling a Twelve Zodiacs meeting. I want to see it."
Netero and the Zodiacs. Hisoka was excited.
His creepy laughter echoed. Loki could imagine his expression.
"That's what I want you to do. We're even after this."
Hisoka readily agreed.
"Call me. I can't wait, Loki! Netero and the Zodiacs—amazing!"
Loki hung up. He'd get sick listening to Hisoka any longer.
Hisoka was a madman, excited by danger and strong opponents.
But that's why Loki chose him.
The only person not intimidated by Netero and the Zodiacs was Hisoka.
During the Yorknew City Auction, information spread rapidly.
But on the day of the auction, shocking news emerged: Loki, the newly wanted S-Class criminal, had killed nearly a thousand people who'd come to hunt him.
Only two survived; one disappeared.
Loki's notoriety as a wanted criminal had already caused a stir, but this news created an even bigger wave.
Killing everyone who came after him was terrifying.
It caused widespread panic.
