Gods and Prophets Part 1.2

"As I have mentioned before. In Black Air Raider culture, we have one God of gods, Modimo Hleko"

They all dropped to their knees in unison, their hands over their heads for a moment before bouncing up to their feet.

"She is the mother of mothers and her children are the Ikumkani's and the Ikumkanikasi's and they had children of their own, the Kgosana's Kgosatsana's. Kgosatsana Thsumo is one of these but she's very different, she's the most dangerous of the grandchildren. Known as the cursed daughter, sister to two other cursed children, whose curse was manifested in fire."

Heather and Nomonda had both jumped behind the bonfire flapping their wings, ambers burst forwards, surrounding Lindi/Evening. The manoeuvre worked better than Heather/Night had hoped.

"The Black Air Raiders on the Earth Needle were some of the sharpest and were said to have magical eyes. They lived on tall, thin mountains which looked very like trees made from rock. All Black Air Raiders live on these 'needles' only those from the Earth's needle were lower than the rest, forcing them to live almost inside the clouds or carpet as we call it."

Heather, Nomonda and Qondile raised their wings higher pointing the wind at the smoke covering the flame in bundles off leaves before forcing a suffocating fog to float over the crowd.

"Kgosatsana Tshumo, saw their amusement, their pride and decided she had had enough."

Heather and Nomonda stayed by the fire while Qondile and Sarah took to the air to cheers. Both girls swooped, pulling up two children who screamed. They threw the children into the air, switching children with ease.

"Kgosatsana dropped down from the heavens in the form of fire. All the Black Air Raiders from the Drake tribe, the Crystal Ram Horn Tribe, the Sky Jaguar tribe and the Sky Serpent tribe bowed in silence. Hiding from view, but not of the Sky Ram tribe. They were too busy enjoying the day to take in the seriousness of the situation. Tshumo landed between them."

Lindi was handed two beams, wrapped in oiled cloth. Fire burst from the torches, dripping bright orange which pooled at her legs. Lindi/Evening took to the sky and chased after both Qondile and Sarah. Rising so high they were dots in the skies, which were quickly turning blue. The smoke passed and they swooped. Dropping the children to their parents and chasing after Lindi who was in front, torches still in hand. She danced solo, stomping hard on the ground to the beat. The other two swooped in only to be forced back as ′Tshumo', sweeping movements, attacked.

Crash!

Lindi/Evening smashed down to the ground, her torches blowing sparks up. She did it three more times, sending the other two away. The drumming reached a fever pitch and Heather blew all the smoke away before Lindi flew. Heather stepped to the front and spread her arms.

"The fiery goddess returned to the fire moon but took the carpet with, taking the separation of the Raiders from the rest of the Black Thorne, bringing us to the ground with all of you. A curse? If it were a curse you would not have heard of the Black Air Raiders, we would be nothing more than a rumour, mythology. We would not have been able to entertain and do we what we do now. It is up to you to decide. Gift or curse. Pride or disgrace!"

Heather paused long enough for the rest of the group to stop and stand behind her.

"That, my people, is a question. I leave wholly up to you!" Heather yelled, the group bowed, dropping to their knees. This brought a level of cheer she'd yet to hear, they were a success. A complete success, she had not expected this.
