Chapter 115

After reading the detailed information, Luo Lan finally understood why that prison island was so ridiculously expensive.

As its name suggested, it wasn't just a facility — it was an artificial island, one that was physically connected to the main island and moved along with it.

If the main island moved, the prison island would follow.

A fine piece of technology, no doubt. But…

He was broke.

He had only around 100,000 points left. And there was still a whole set of upgraded buildings waiting for special traits to be refreshed.

Not to mention the issue of recruiting more personnel.

Spending over 100,000 points all at once — just for a prison?

Absolutely not.

Besides, he didn't have that many prisoners to lock up anyway.

After all…

Anyone he could imprison was either a capable fighter, or someone whose hands weren't stained with the blood of civilians or Marines.

In other words, most of them had already been eliminated on the spot.

So wasting points on a luxury prison?

No thanks.

Luo Lan shook his head and instead constructed a simple underground prison.

That way, he could still keep some points in reserve.

---

Three days later.

Everything was ready.

At Luo Lan's command, the entire island shuddered violently.

Then…

It started to move.

Slowly — very slowly — but that didn't matter. After all, Rhodes Island was only three nautical miles away from the Calm Belt.

Even at just one knot, they'd reach it in about three hours. Once they hit their final cruising speed of 2.5 knots, it would take around twenty days to reach their target destination.

But compared to traveling by ship, this had a huge advantage:

No need to worry about Sea Kings.

This was a medium-sized island, after all. Sea Kings wouldn't come ashore.

As for them possibly attacking the propulsion systems beneath the island?

Well — those were hundred-meter-long propellers.

If a Sea King tried to get close, it would probably just end up shredded into fish paste.

So Luo Lan wasn't worried in the slightest.

Knock, knock, knock—

Someone knocked on the door.

"Come in!"

"Captain!"

"Robin? What brings you here?"

Luo Lan was a little surprised to see her. Robin should've still been in the middle of the handover with Ian. Why was she here?

"You seem pretty relaxed..."

Robin stepped in and immediately saw Luo Lan leaning back in his chair, legs propped up on the desk — not exactly the image of a serious leader.

She sighed.

"Can't I relax in my own home?"

Luo Lan replied, clearly annoyed.

To him, the entire 157th Division was something he had built from the ground up.

Which meant...

This was his home.

Why should he worry about appearances?

"Fair enough. You win. I just got a new piece of intel — interested in hearing it?"

"It's a very interesting one."

Robin grinned mischievously.

"What kind of intel?"

"You've been bounty posted — for a full 800 million Berries!"

Robin slapped three bounty posters on Luo Lan's desk.

Luo Lan couldn't help but snort in amusement.

The Fleet Admiral putting a bounty on a Marine… and on his own son?

Classic.

He picked up the posters.

The first one was for himself — no name listed, just "Leader of the Jun Lin Organization", with a bounty of 800 million Berries, dead or alive.

The second — Ace, listed as a Jun Lin officer, with a bounty of 300 million, dead or alive.

The third — Zoro, same title, bounty of 280 million, dead or alive.

As for the images?

No photographs — just sketches.

And not even good ones. The artwork was so abstract that Luo Lan could barely recognize them.

But what annoyed him most was the reason for the bounty:

"Brutally massacred thousands of civilians on Volcano Island."

Excuse me?

Were those civilians?

Brrrrrrr!

Just as Luo Lan was about to chat more with Robin, the Den Den Mushi rang.

It was a targeted line — only certain people could reach him through it.

Probably…

Morgans.

"Morgans, what's up?"

"You've seen the bounty posters?"

"Yep. Just now. I gotta say — those sketches are awful. One star!"

"That's what you're worried about?"

"What else should I be worried about?" Luo Lan shot back.

Morgans paused. Fair enough — those pictures were indeed...

Even if someone stood in front of you wearing the Jun Lin uniform, you still probably wouldn't recognize them based on those.

That's how bad they were.

"…Say, Morgans, can I borrow your newspaper to make a public statement?"

"Huh? What kind of statement?"

"Let me think… Oh, right! Help me condemn the Navy for these terrible bounty sketches. Something along those lines."

Morgans was dumbfounded.

Was that really necessary?

Then again… it was amusing.

Might even boost sales.

"Fine. I'll polish it up and put it in tomorrow's issue."

"Thanks!"

"No problem. Actually, I called for something else — much more important."

"Oh? What is it?"

"It's about Doflamingo."

Luo Lan's expression instantly turned serious.

Back on Volcano Island, he'd planned to take Doflamingo down — but someone had rescued him at the last moment.

He still hadn't figured out who.

Did Morgans have a lead?

"Earlier today, Doflamingo issued a bounty in the Underworld — 1 billion Berries for any useful intel on the Jun Lin Organization."

"1 billion? That's… generous."

But Luo Lan wasn't worried.

Nobody knew they were based on Rhodes Island, and even less that the island was now headed for the Calm Belt.

Still, since Doflamingo was targeting him…

It was only polite to return the favor, right?

"Say, Morgans — your paper drops tomorrow, right?"

"Correct."

"Would it be possible to… add another page?"

"What are you planning?"

Morgans frowned.

The next issue had already started printing, and the front page was explosive — thanks to the last batch of info Luo Lan had shared.

Adding a page would mess up their entire schedule.

Unless the news was absolutely earth-shattering, Morgans wouldn't budge.

Yes — he had standards.

But…

Ten minutes later, after hearing Luo Lan's idea—

Morgans ordered the entire press run burned.

The front page was scrapped, new layouts designed, and emergency printing began immediately.

He would make sure tomorrow's paper spread this story to every corner of the sea.

"Doflamingo, oh Doflamingo… Why did you have to provoke…"

"…someone who knows everything?"

And with that, Morgans began to write furiously.

As he wrote, he let out a maniacal, cackling laugh.
