Liam rushed to the station, but unfortunately, the early morning bus had already left. What bothered him the most was that he had no idea where they had gone. He lingered around the station for a while before heading back home, continuing to check around as daylight began to break.

Suddenly, it hit him...Zoey! He knew for sure Mery would have said goodbye to them and probably mentioned where she was going.

Without wasting time, Liam made his way to Zoey’s house and knocked rapidly on the door.

Merie quickly got ready for work at a tailoring shop opened by a wealthy woman in the neighborhood to support unemployed women. As she lifted her bag, a photo slipped out. It was an old picture taken when Jaxon was still in the hospital. A soft smile spread across her face as she ran her fingers over Jaxon and Aurora’s faces in the photo.

“I miss you, my children…” she whispered, then pulled out her phone and dialed Jaxon’s number.
