Chapter 94: Alex: I Became a Supreme One?!

Thump. Thump. Thump.

A rapid shuffle of footsteps echoed through the courtyard.

A group of people dressed in black suits, wearing sunglasses and holding umbrellas, marched swiftly toward Alex.

Leading the group was a man with shoulder-length, flowing hair parted sharply down the middle—he looked just like Snape from Harry Potter.

Seriously, not everyone could pull off that hairstyle without looking ridiculous.

But this guy? It suited him. Too well.

And that face...

Alex blinked. His eyes swept over the man unintentionally—and then froze. He looked so familiar. And the moment the thought clicked, he suddenly remembered who this "Snape" lookalike was.

Kraven.

The Underworld vampire clan's "Enforcer." Tasked with overseeing the coven's affairs while the vampire elders slept. Not exactly a good guy either—he conspired with Lucian, the werewolf leader, and in the end, got his brains blown out by the elder Marcus.

What a tragic end.

Alex never expected that the undead faction Dracula had handed over to him was this familiar.

No wonder that Hungarian duke's backstory had sounded so recognizable.

Wasn't that the origin myth from the Underworld movies? The progenitors of vampires and lycans?

As all these thoughts flashed through Alex's mind, Kraven and his men had already arrived, stopping just outside the wrought iron gate. He stood there, peering at Alex through the bars.

After a long moment of silent scrutiny, Kraven finally raised a ring in his hand and spoke.

"This ring—does it belong to you?"

"Of course." Alex replied without hesitation.

"Put it on."

Kraven's voice dropped a note, and he handed the ring to Alex.

With a casual shrug, Alex slid it onto his finger, then spread his hands. "Satisfied?"

Kraven's expression finally eased, and he gestured to the men beside him. "Open the gates."

Creaaak—

The heavy gates swung open with a groan. Kraven gestured inward with cold courtesy. "Please, come in."

"Let's go." Alex turned to Hank and Raven.

The two exchanged nervous glances, clearly unsettled by the crowd of vampires. A chill crept down their spines.

But seeing how calm Alex remained, they felt oddly reassured.

With him here, what were a few vampires?

So the group followed Alex and Kraven, making their way into the ancient fortress.

"What should I call you?" Kraven asked expressionlessly.

"Alex."

"Mr. Alex," Kraven continued, "I can only make a preliminary judgment based on records, but to confirm the authenticity of the ring—and your status—we need one of our Elders."

"So for now, I can't recognize you as a Supreme One."

Supreme One?

Alex nearly choked. That title sounded way too over-the-top.

Still, from what Kraven said, Alex gathered something important. Apparently, those who were cursed into undeath by Dracula's ring were considered "Supreme Ones" within the undead hierarchy.

And most of the undead in this world were probably converted by one of these Supremes.

Which would explain why he now held such a revered status.

That was his guess anyway, but it sounded plausible enough.

He didn't ask any dumb questions like "What's a Supreme One?" Instead, he simply nodded slightly to show he understood.

"I've already informed the Elder. She should be here in about thirty minutes."

"Until then, I'll have to ask you to stay in the guest hall and refrain from wandering. Since you found us, I assume you already know who we are. I trust you understand."

Kraven's tone remained as cold and stiff as ever.

Alex didn't care much. What piqued his interest was something else.

"So, who's ruling this century?"

According to the Underworld lore, the vampire coven had three Elders. One ruled while the other two slept, taking turns every century.

"Is it Amelia?" Alex asked tentatively.

The movie took place in the 21st century, with Amelia in charge while Viktor and Marcus slumbered.

Based on the timeline, it was likely still her.

Kraven shot him a surprised look.

This man knew quite a bit about their coven. Some of his suspicions toward Alex lessened—though only slightly. After all, Alex still didn't feel like one of them.

Soon, Alex and his group were led politely into a guest room. Kraven even had someone bring them coffee.

Though… calling it coffee was generous.

"Apologies," Kraven said flatly. "We don't exactly entertain guests. Certainly not the... ordinary kind. The coffee machine was something the ladies bought out of curiosity. So please, bear with it."

"If you need anything, Erica will assist you. I'll take my leave for now."

He nodded curtly and left.

What remained, however, was a curvaceous, scantily clad vampire woman who made Raven and Hank extremely uncomfortable.

As for the coffee? Neither of them dared touch it.

"They really are vampires… Did you see their teeth, Hank?" Raven whispered, leaning close.

Hank nodded, glancing at Erica out of the corner of his eye with a touch of curiosity. "Yeah. Every one of them had those fangs. And they smell… different."

"Smell? I didn't notice that. But they do give off a cold, creepy vibe. And their skin is super pale."

Watching the two of them geek out, Alex couldn't help but chuckle.

"Elder, he's inside."

Kraven returned after a while, and behind him was a woman who radiated an aristocratic, powerful presence.

No doubt about it—this was Amelia, Vampire Elder.
