Chapter 8: Teaming up

Alan met up with Arun the next day outside the beginner dungeon. The fact that Alan reached level 10 was spread among his classmates. Now they all looked at him with a tone of respect.

The world is like this, the weak revered the strong. Soon their teacher found them. Alan had asked the teacher to find some high level students willing to venture into tier 1 areas. He had found a mage and a tank.

The mage was Ann, their school belle. She was around 170 cm black haired brown eyes curvy and well developed. He had some impression of her, she was school topper of No 3 high.

The other one was Kane, Ann's cousin who was from No:2 high. He was tall at around 190 with a well built physique. He had the same black hair and brown eyes like Ann.

They had both reached level 10 the previous day.

Luckily Ann was also looking for someone to party up. Now that they have shown up it made things easier. Now they need to find a healer to make the team more balanced.

They asked around and found a pretty good healer. Her name was Ruo Si and she was a level 6 healer. She had a black hair and black eyes and was from Huaxian lineage. She had a height of 168 cm and was fair and good looking but with flat chest.

The best healers available are of level 7 and are currently occupied, so she is the best choice available now.

Awakeners who choose healing skill at first and want to pursue healer class had a hard time leveling up. But as they are in high demand people are willing to carry them. Their leveling efficiency depends on how good their teammates are.

Ruo Si was looking for a new team to team up with. When she was asked whether she wanted to team up with them she was excited. It was rare to get to team up with those geniuses.

Alan successfully formed his first party. He used his panels to successfully invite others into his party. After that they dived into the beginner dungeon.

They first decided to warm up and let Arun and Ruo Si level up to level 10.

Arun casually asked "what happened to your last teammates" Everyone looked at Ruo Si to hear her reply. It is not usual for a healer to leave a team.

"My previous team leader was a complete jerk. He was trying to get my attention now and then, and when he saw how I ignored him he threatened me that he would kick me out of the team unless I agreed to date him. So I did not hesitate and left the team"

"So you are not afraid of them taking revenge?" Alan asked.

"He said he will make sure no other team will accept me. If it was any other team they would have backed down fearing his background. But you all are another case. It is my lucky day to team up with you all. I am very grateful that you all accepted me."

"Don't worry he won't dare to mess with us. If he does I will make sure he will regret it" replied Ann

They then took out the map. Looked at suitable territory to level up the two of them. Alan recommended the orc territory as he was familiar with the layout and the orcs.

Others were sceptical as the orcs were the most dangerous after the tier 1 area. They are known for their battle tactics and combat awareness. Only large teams attempted raiding their camp.

When Arun explained how Alan killed the boss the others were shocked. They never had thought about that method.

If you think about it, the presence of mushrooms in the orc territory itself was a surprise as you can sell them to pharmaceutical companies or research institutions for profit as it is involved in some medicines like anaesthesia.

As orcs are considered very dangerous their territory is mostly ignored by the players. So the presence of red devil mushrooms likely went unnoticed.

Like who in the right mind would go looking for resources in the most dangerous territory. And the teams raiding probably went straight to the camp instead of lingering in the periphery.

Kane said with some excitement " this thing is huge. If this info is made into some hidden strategy and published you can earn some good money"

"Yeah, my brother said he'll handle this" Alan had already discussed this with his brother last night. He said he will deal with the strategy and there is no need to worry about it, he just needed to focus on leveling up and tier transition.

"So who is your brother?" Ruo Si asked curiously. She was from No 2 high so she didn't know of Alan's background. She only knew he was powerful and reached level 10 on day 1.

"He is a member of Titans guild's strike force. As for his specific position within, I don't know about it"

Everyone except Arun was surprised hearing this. Only the best of the best could join the Titans guild. As for the strike team it is even more difficult.

Titans guild is considered to be one of the top 3 guilds in the entire continent. So joining it's special strike team is considered a very big deal. Everyone started to look at Alan in a different light.

Then after a round of discussion everyone eventually decided to go with Alan's decision, as he convinced everyone with his strategy.

Since Kane and Ann had reached level 10 they can't make use of any more experience points. So they set the experience distribution to 0 for Alan, Kane and Ann and the rest of the exp will be divided equally by Arun and Ruo Si.

No one had any objection to this.

So everyone departed after making some plans. They had 12 hours allocated that day, so they had to level up fast and head to the tier 1 territory so they wasted no time.

They all hurried at their full speed towards the orc territory. After they reached they noticed the number of orcs patrolling had reduced.

This may be due to the death of the previous boss and the strong orcs fighting for his position. So the orcs were most likely concentrated in the encampment.

So this makes things even easier. First they will clear out the patrolling orcs and then they will try to clear out their camp.

The plan was like this, Kane will attract the patrolling orcs attention while Alan will go for the kill. If something happened and the orc were not killed in one shot Ann and Arun will step in.

Ruo Si was tasked with healing Kane. So they set out tracking and orc.

Kane used his skill taunt to attract the orcs' attention. The others were behind some cover hiding their presence.

Alan charged his arrow with fire elemental mana. Ann was shocked seeing this. This was something that tier 3 professionals used.

It was the basic requirement for stepping into tier 3. Seeing Alan use it was quite a shock to her.

"My best friend is a genius ofcourse" said Arun with his head high after seeing Ann in shock.

Alan shot the arrow and it pierced through the orcs eye and killed it in one shot. Having someone to distract the orc really made things easier.

After confirming the kill Ann asked " how did you do it."

"How did I do what? Killing it in one shot?" Alan replied in confusion wondering what she was asking.

"That ability you have used just now should be fire elemental mastery. How did you obtain it this early? It is very hard to obtain it"

"I just manipulated my fireball skill for 2-3 hours and obtained the skill. It's nothing big to be surprised about."

"Do you know how many people are stuck at the bottleneck unable to progress to tier 3. It is not as easy as you say….. wait did you say fireball. I thought you were an archer."

"He is aiming for the mage archer hybrid class so he took the fireball skill as he was already proficient in the art of bow" Arun said.

"Oh so that's why…most people would only focus on the skill of one particular class in tier 0. So I thought you only had archery related skill" Ann said in realisation.

Ann and others were impressed. Then Arun broke through to level 9, and Ruo Si reached the level 6 limit. They distributed the loot and set out in search of their next prey.
