CHAPTER 7:Purifying Chakra

This was a dark and illusory space—devoid of form or boundary—except for a fragment of jade floating midair, glowing faintly. Beneath it hovered a sphere of light-blue energy—his chakra, his essence.

As he watched, the faint glow from the jade fragment swept across his chakra, teasing out particles of light. These glimmers coalesced into four faint, translucent silhouettes before being drawn back into the shard.

"The Sage of Six Paths? Kaguya Ōtsutsuki? Isshiki Ōtsutsuki…?"

Tamura Hao's breath caught. He could recognize three of the figures—though hazy and spectral, the defining features stood out. One resembled Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, the legendary Sage of Six Paths, with his staff and forehead Rinnegan. Another had the graceful, almost regal features of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, including her distinctive horned hairstyle and Byakugan-like eyes. The third was harder to discern, but bore a horned silhouette similar to Ōtsutsuki Isshiki, whom Hao remembered from post-series materials related to Boruto. The fourth was the vaguest and most surreal—barely formed but still unmistakably Ōtsutsuki.

"Spiritual imprints?"

He reasoned these figures weren't actual spirits but remnants—indelible marks. Chakra, as known in the ninja world, originated with Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. She consumed the chakra fruit from the God Tree and gave birth to Hagoromo and Hamura. Hagoromo, the Sage of Six Paths, then spread chakra among humanity. In the Fourth Shinobi War, Hagoromo was even able to appear in the minds of Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha—despite being long deceased—proving the chakra carried residual consciousness.

The presence of Isshiki Ōtsutsuki's imprint made sense if this was a Boruto-aligned timeline. As the lore from Boruto went, the God Tree's formation required an Ōtsutsuki as a sacrifice. Kaguya was supposed to be that sacrifice for the Ten-Tails but betrayed Isshiki instead. Although Isshiki survived by hijacking Jigen's body, much of his original body had been lost—perhaps sacrificed by Kaguya after all.

Given that, it was no surprise that remnants of all three—Kaguya, Hagoromo, and Isshiki—remained latent in the chakra system passed down through bloodlines. The fourth, even more primal figure, could be a progenitor Ōtsutsuki—perhaps one of the earliest to sow chakra across worlds.

"If Isshiki is here, then this world is aligned with the Boruto timeline…"

Tamura Hao considered this carefully. The canon timeline was convoluted. Conflicts arose even between early Naruto canon and the events and retcons introduced in Boruto. For instance, Kaguya's motivations and Isshiki's presence weren't clearly defined in the earlier series.

But this changed everything. If Isshiki existed in this world, then so might the Kara organization and its vessels, and even the concept of Karma marks. This world could be far more dangerous than he'd anticipated.

Tamura Hao turned his attention to the glowing jade.

"My cheat? My golden finger?"

He'd suspected something had helped transmigrate him here. Normal people didn't just appear in the ninja world. And over ten years, despite training diligently, he'd advanced only slowly. His talent was average at best. Without some edge, he'd never surpass a Chūnin like Iruka. But this fragment—it must be the reason.

All this time, he had missed the correct method to awaken it. And today, seemingly by chance—or perhaps through accumulation of changes he'd caused—it had activated.

As his consciousness drew closer to the jade, a brief burst of information surged into his mind:

"Change fate. Intercept the flow of destiny. Consuming destiny points increases comprehension."

"A support-type cheat? Not as flashy as Deep Blue next door."

Tamura Hao smiled wryly. This wasn't a combat buff, a stat boost, or a Kekkei Genkai. It was a comprehension enhancer—more abstract but equally valuable in the long run.

In the world of ninjutsu, comprehension was everything. Take the Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet Technique—forty-four hand seals in its textbook form. At four seals per second, that's eleven seconds—an eternity in battle. Yet Hōzuki Mangetsu could perform it faster, and the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, had reduced it to just three seals.

That kind of optimization required immense understanding. Even Uchiha Itachi's one-handed seals showed the peak of chakra control and mental discipline. And techniques like Kakashi Hatake's Chidori, or the development of the Rasenshuriken, were born of genius-level insight.

But Hao had none of that… yet.

Comprehension could change that. Mastery over basic and advanced ninjutsu alike, and even understanding the mechanics of chakra transformation and nature affinities, all depended on it.

"But what triggers the gain in destiny points?"

He remembered—the moment the Raikage accepted the firearms and 10 billion ryō contribution. The significant shift in the Cloud Village's direction—perhaps even its role in the Second Great Ninja War—had undoubtedly diverged from canon. That divergence must have created the ripples of fate this jade intercepted.

In this world, canon wasn't fixed. And if fate could be bent or broken, then points could be harvested.

That meant changing the plot was the path forward.

"The center of the plot is Konoha," he mused. "That's where the story revolves. The more changes I cause there, the greater the power of destiny I'll intercept."

But he was still weak. For now, the Hidden Cloud was his sanctuary and forge.

Turning his attention back to the dark space, Hao speculated.

"Is this my inner world? Like the place where Naruto met the Nine-Tails… or where Sasuke met Hagoromo?"

It seemed so. This spiritual world—the mindscape—was where consciousness could interface with power.

He looked at the remaining chakra sphere, now dimmer and smaller.

"That jade… it purified my chakra."

From the earlier reaction, it had forcefully drawn all chakra from his body, extracted the imprints of the Ōtsutsuki, and returned purified essence.

That meant his body had no more chakra seeds.

He tried refining chakra again.

"…Nothing."

He opened his eyes. As expected—he couldn't generate chakra anymore. The "chakra seeds" within the genetic bloodline had been consumed or rendered inert.

In the Naruto world, chakra was passed from generation to generation, encoded in the body. If it was removed, it was like pulling up a tree by the roots—no new growth.

But he still had the purified chakra stored in the jade.

He directed the energy from the jade fragment back into his tenketsu, using it to kickstart chakra molding.

Success.

"The control is incredible."

He extended chakra threads. Four now, not two. And they reached two meters instead of one.

Before, his max control allowed only two threads at a short distance—chakra threading, a skill even medical-nin and puppeteers trained for years to master. It had taken Hao five years to reach that modest level.

Now? A single burst of purified chakra doubled his efficiency.

Control had clearly increased. Perhaps not raw power or quantity—but precision, synchronization, and affinity with his own body had reached new heights.

This wasn't the end. He sensed that with training and further purification, his abilities would grow exponentially.

The jade fragment had not only protected him—it had burned away the residue of ancient bloodline imprints and returned him something more his own.

Now, he had control.

Now, he had the means to climb.

Now, the future would be different.
