Early the following morning;
Kylie you did all this for me,right? You can't just go missing. Maya cried as she pulled down all the decorations in tears. If you come I promise to go with you to visit the old age home, please just come back. The phone's ring brought her back from the roller-coaster of thoughts.
She picked without looking at the caller ID and heard the word that made lines of displeasure cross her features_officer
"Hlo, officer Dan here.Have you checked the news?"
"Why? What is on the news?"Maya demanded
"I need you to tell me if you identify the victim" the officer said from the other side of the phone.
"Why should I. I want look for my sister, not identify victims" Maya retorted.
"Ma'am we're trying to help you here so you need to cooperate"
"FINE" Maya said through gritted teeth and checked the news only to see a headline that nearly shocked her to death: A YOUNG GIRL FOUND DEAD BY THE ROAD_It is said she was shot.
I sunk to the ground when I saw the clothes the girl had on. Until now I didn't realize that Kylie actually loved the scarf I made her, But then that coat_I don't recognize it, I felt a warm liquid roll down my cheeks.
"Ha ha ha" Maya laughed hysterically, That's not Kylie,she doesn't have such a coat.
"Ma'am? are you still on the line?" the officer asked in confusion.
"Yes, I am" Maya replied
" Do you recognize that girl?" officer Dan asked
"The face is not clear but I recognize the scarf, though not the coat" Maya answered trying to convince herself that it's just a coincidence and the scarfs look similar.
"You need to come to the police station" the officer suggested which surprisingly she agreed.
"Sure"
In twenty five minutes, I was seated infront of a desk labeled: INSPECTOR DANIELS WAYNE, and as usual my mouth betrayed me.
"So you are Inspector Daniels Wayne, not 'officer Dan'?" I couldn't help but ask. He is an inspector but acts like an ordinary officer, wow!, he is calm and composed with his poker face BTW did I forget to say he is kinda cute_those electric blue eyes, strong chiseled jawline, thin lips pressed into a thin line as if deep in thought made him look sexy, and his hair, oh damn it he has a cap on.
"Miss Radens you need to come with us to the hospital" officer Dan, no scratch that Inspector Daniels Wayne was very formal and professional and did I forget to say straight forward, wait did he just say h-hospital? me?
"Hospital,...for what"Maya was puzzled
"Just come with me, no questions" Inspector Daniels Wayne was brief and precise, sensing her hesitation, he grabbed her hand gently and led her to the police jeep.
He drove to the hospital his gaze glued to the road yet it felt like he was watching me_ he really concentrates in a creepy way. It was just the three of us; Inspector_ driving, his most trusted constable_on guard and I_fiddling with my fingers.
When we reached, I asked"You didn't tell me why we are at the hospital"
