Ch 18: In the Wrong Chat- Part 3

Nina sat on the couch, sipping juice from a straw and watching her mother whirl around the living room with uncontained glee.

Piles of neatly folded clothes, travel pouches, toiletries, and snacks formed a mountain on the table as her mother narrated her plans at a rapid pace.

"This hotel apparently has a sea view from every room. And the food is supposed to be chef's kiss. Oh, and there's a local market that opens only on weekends. I'm thinking we go there on the second day and—"

Her mother said, folding a scarf with a flourish.

"Mom, we still have two days before we leave."

Nina interrupted.

Her mother didn't even glance up.

"Exactly. And two days are not enough to pack. If I don't start now, I'll end up packing in a panic and forget something important like my face cream or my lucky socks."

Nina blinked.

"Your lucky socks?"

"They help with travel sickness."

Her mother said, very seriously.
