Chapter 55: Domain of Annihilation

In the former Divine Realm, during the gods' campaign against the dragons and other beast gods, the one who killed the most dragons was not the Asura God—who split the Dragon God into the Golden and Silver Dragon Kings—but rather the God of Destruction.

Wherever the God of Destruction passed, the dragon race crumbled with agonizing roars, annihilated one after another. From that war onward, destruction energy gained a unique trait in its very nature—a kind of innate targeting effect against dragon-kind.

So, the moment Huo Yuhao began absorbing the Earth Dragon King's spirit bone—a sub-dragon type—this destruction energy, "obsessed with slaughtering dragons," instinctively targeted and purged many of the dragon attributes within the bone, replacing them with destructive properties.

Of course, Huo Yuhao had no idea about any of this. All he knew was that, during the process, the Destruction Shadow within him had suddenly stirred, then settled—and when he finished absorbing the bone, it felt... different, transformed somehow.

When Huo Yuhao awoke, Kong Deming hurriedly asked, "Yuhao, are you alright? I sensed a sudden surge of destructive energy from you just now."

Huo Yuhao smiled. "I'm fine, Grandpa. It's just... the spirit bone I absorbed seems to have been altered by the destruction energy."

Kong Deming's eyes widened in shock and curiosity. "Altered? That's remarkable. In all my years, I've never seen anything quite like that. Tell me—what abilities did you gain? A hundred-thousand-year soul bone should grant two skills."

Huo Yuhao nodded.

"The first is a typical earth-attribute skill of the Earth Dragon King, and probably one that old man from Shrek Academy had too: Heaven and Earth Resonance. It's a powerful offensive skill. Simply put, it gathers the earth-elemental energy of heaven and earth into an orb imbued with planetary force, which can then be hurled at enemies. At high levels of cultivation, it can even draw in earth essence from all of Mingdu and its surroundings for a cataclysmic strike."

A soul skill of such magnitude—one connected to the power of the world itself—would normally be impossible for someone like Huo Yuhao, who didn't even have an earth-element martial soul. But perhaps because of his status as a Child of Fate, and the elevation of his life force, he had been "favored" by the world's very plane, allowing him access to this ability.

Had the Earth Dragon King's spirit bone not been transformed by destruction energy, this already incredible skill would've been its greatest gift. But what truly surprised him was the second skill—born of that transformation.

"As for the second skill," Huo Yuhao said, "I think it's best if I show you myself. Grandpa, please be a bit cautious."

Hearing his beloved grandson say that, Kong Deming almost chuckled aloud. 'No matter how strong this soul skill is, it's still being used by a mere three-ring Soul Elder. What harm could it possibly do to me?'

And then he got metaphorically slapped in the face.

With a single thought from Huo Yuhao, the second skill of the hundred-thousand-year spirit bone was unleashed. The already gloomy skies over the outskirts of the Demonic Forest began to swirl into a terrifying, abyssal violet.

In an instant, the world within a hundred meters around Huo Yuhao turned apocalyptic. Deep purple lightning cracked through the sky, and a swirling vortex of destructive force slowly opened above.

The vortex grew rapidly, expanding to cover the entire hundred-meter radius, until suddenly—a colossal pillar of violet light plummeted from the heavens, engulfing the entire area.

Three seconds later, the pillar faded, revealing a sky returned to normal... and a previously forested area that was now barren, not a single blade of grass left in its wake.

Kong Deming slowly deactivated the soul tool shield he'd activated mid-cast, his expression complex.

Huo Yuhao, having poured all of his soul power into the cast, lay collapsed on the ground.

As the host of destruction energy, Huo Yuhao hadn't fainted from being injured by his own power. It was pure exhaustion.

Looking around the scorched earth within the hundred-meter radius, Kong Deming couldn't find a single object left on the ground.

The moment he saw the beam descend from the heavens, he knew—had he not protected himself, he would've been wounded. Not seriously, but even a trace of that destructive energy could've left lingering harm to his life force.

So, he'd had no choice but to activate his soul tool shield. What surprised him even more was that his first, low-level shield lasted less than a second. He estimated that only a grade-6 or 7 soul tool shield could endure for a brief time, and only a grade-8 or higher shield could fully block it.

But more than the power, what shocked him was the range.

"If Yuhao reaches just the Soul King or Soul Emperor level," Kong Deming muttered, "then facing any Soul Tool Legion without their joint defense array... this one soul skill could wipe them out entirely."

Of course, if the enemy soul engineers activated their linked defense systems—so strong even a Titled Douluo couldn't breach—it would be a different story.

Also, the skill had a bit of a wind-up. That devastating three-second strike had taken about ten seconds to charge.

But if he used it against regular soul master armies—who lacked coordinated defense or the mobility of soul tool-equipped legions...

'This is a weapon of mass destruction.'

As Kong Deming stood pondering, Huo Yuhao slowly came to.

In truth, this skill had great flexibility. It could be used as a wide-range area-of-effect strike, or refined into precise, small-scale targeted destruction within the domain.

But to showcase the power to Kong Deming, Huo Yuhao had gone all out. The result? He completely depleted his soul power and fainted, only regaining consciousness ten minutes later. Even now, he'd recovered barely a tenth of his strength.

Honestly, if it were any attribute other than destruction, the skill wouldn't be nearly this terrifying. But this was destruction energy.

Taking out a soul power-replenishing bottle, Huo Yuhao drank and struggled to sit upright.

"Yuhao," Kong Deming asked, "what do you plan to name this terrifying soul skill?"

After thinking for a moment, Huo Yuhao replied, "Let's call it... Domain of Annihilation."

"Such a fitting name," Kong Deming muttered. "Yuhao... just how many domain-type soul skills do you even have now? Can you tell your grandpa?"

He felt numb at this point. Domain-type skills were rare to begin with, yet Huo Yuhao was collecting them like cheap cabbage. Today alone, he'd acquired two: the Spiritual Domain and now this Domain of Annihilation.

Huo Yuhao thought for a moment. He also had Ultimate Ice Domain, Spiritual Interference Field, Mental Detection, and Mental Sharing. "Uh… maybe four? Grandpa?"

Kong Deming was speechless. 'Four domain-type soul skills… four…'
