WORDS HEARD, SLEEPER AGENT ACTIVATED!
[Third person POV, Year 2001, second loop, July 7th]
Suddenly, Adrian's soul let a red glow, feeling his own soul reacting. Quickly standing up from the floor and giving a jump to back away, Adrian looked at the Winter Soldier that was approaching and spoke to himself with a nervous expression on his face.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the consequences of my own actions... god damnit Bucky, couldn't you appear a couple of years later? Looks like I'm cooked for this try."
Giving a sigh, our protagonist this time let out a maniac grin and spoke again.
"I know trying to ask you information right now is stupid, so you know what? Rev it up!"
"Longing!"
Before our protagonist could keep speaking the trigger words of the Winter Soldier in Russian, he was cut off by the sight of Bucky suddenly starting to run at him.
'God damnit!'
The Winter Soldier sent a punch to Adrian's face, who quickly stepped aside and tried to punch Bucky in one of his ribs—only for the hand to be caught by a metallic arm.
"Rusted!"
Bucky grabbed Adrian's arm with strength and suddenly pulled him into the air, delivering a punch to Adrian's face. Adrian quickly answered by sending a side kick to the Winter Soldier's face, taking advantage of his stature by positioning himself mid-air—this was blocked with some difficulty by Bucky, who had to drop our protagonist.
"Furnace!"
Adrian kept screaming the trigger words. When falling to the ground, he pulled one of the knives the Winter Soldier kept strapped to his leg and positioned himself, trying to get away from his enemy's range.
"Daybreak!"
The Winter Soldier quickly chased after our MC with clenched fists. He moved in fast, throwing a hook at Adrian's ribs. Adrian twisted with it, letting the fist brush past him, then drove his elbow back toward Bucky's face. But Bucky ducked under, pivoting and quickly doing a sweeping kick—which our protagonist dodged by jumping in the air.
'Wait!'
With a face of realization—but being too late—Adrian was tackled by Bucky, sent across several meters. Adrian quickly stabilized himself with a pained expression.
'I somewhat outclass him by physical stats, but he is cooking me because of his battle skills and experience!'
"Seventeen!"
This time it was Adrian who decided to attack. Adrian lashed out with a kick—snapped high toward Bucky's head. But Bucky raised his forearm just in time, absorbing the impact and rolling with it.
'I need to use every single moment to use his trigger words!'
"Bening!"
Bucky moved again to attack Adrian—fast jab, faster cross.
Adrian blocked both, parrying the second strike aside and lunging with the knife-bearing hand toward Bucky's face.
"Nine!"
But Bucky stepped aside like he saw it coming days ago, grabbing Adrian's wrist and twisting—only for Adrian to twist with him, flowing through the motion, breaking free with some difficulty.
Adrian aimed a spinning backfist with the knife hand, which Bucky leaned back from just enough to let it slice air in front of his nose.
"Homecoming!"
Bucky snapped forward with a knee—Adrian caught it with the chest and was then combo'ed by Bucky: left, right, elbowed in the face, three different attacks in a single span of a moment.
With pain coursing through his face, chest, and other parts of his body, Adrian forced himself to keep talking.
"One!"
Bucky caught Adrian's arm again and took away his knife. However, this time instead of pulling our protagonist, he threw him to the ground, where he locked him in a rear naked chokehold, making it difficult for Adrian to speak.
"Freight... CAR!"
But even so, that could not stop Adrian's determination, and he spoke the last trigger word. Suddenly, the chokehold stopped and our protagonist quickly got out of it.
"God damnit... I almost decided to load... but well, I fucking did it!"
{Music stops}
"Ready to comply."
Suddenly, words were spoken by the ever-silent Winter Soldier, who stood up and was looking into the void—although in the general direction of our MC.
"Finally speaking, huh? You know, I thought you would talk when I said Hydra's name. I guess I expected too much."
Stretching his body, Adrian spoke while he massaged the wounded places of his body, with clear pain showing on his face.
"Whatever. Report on your current mission, Soldier."
And just like that, Bucky spoke again with total calm and coldness, as if he hadn't just tried to kill Adrian a second ago.
"Understood, sir. The mission assigned was of capturing a small child in the United States, killing the family after the capture, and sending the child to one of our facilities."
Or well, as if he hadn't tried to capture Adrian a couple of seconds ago.
With a now confused expression, our protagonist looked at Bucky and asked again with clenched fists.
"Killing my family after capturing me—definitely Hydra's style. But why would they try to kidnap me in the first place? Wouldn't it be easier to just kill me? Tell me everything you know."
'Thinking about it, if Hydra wanted to kill me they would have just put a bullet in my brain with a sniper, or Bucky would have used a gun through the door and made me look like cheese.'
Bucky answered again.
"Exact reasons why the mission was assigned were not explicitly told. However, from what I heard, they were talking about a different genetic structure than normal humans."
Suddenly, as if illuminated, our protagonist fell into realization of what exactly was happening.
"So they didn't send you because of what I was doing—but because of what I am in the first place. But how did they know a random kid had that? My blood test should be normal, as stated by the medical results when I was 11–12 weeks in pregnancy my mother... O-... wait, we're in fucking Marvel. Hydra probably has access to medical records and those are sent automatically to them—probably because of that damn old man Zola."
Cursing, our protagonist kept speaking out loud his reasoning. He now knew why he wasn't instantly killed by the Winter Soldier—as he wasn't even trying to kill him. That was the reason why Adrian could technically win this fight.
"Knowing that mutants exist, they probably try to discover possible mutants. However, because of how the mutant X-gene works, this takes years to decipher with current technology if they are a mutant, as it's not active when the medical record is sent... my genetic code is probably the same on the surface—completely normal—but having a key difference, the one that makes my body so strong and able to hold my soul and determination!"
Having an imaginary light bulb above his head, our protagonist quickly pulled his save menu.
"So that means that having to face Bucky and Hydra is bound to happen this year no matter what... which means that I have to prepare and put myself at an advantage. Thanks for the information, Bucky. Sadly, I can't advance more without ruining my plan this time."
Pressing the load button, Adrian said some last words to Bucky, and then in the direction of his room.
"I'm sorry, Bucky, but I'm going to kick your ass next time. AND I'M GOING TO GET YOU AGAIN, YOU HEAR ME BARTHOLOMEW CHUNGUS GINGERSNAP THE GREAT?! OUR ADVENTURE WILL NOT END THIS TIMELINE."
