When I woke up the next morning, I was half-convinced last night's madness was just a fever dream.
But then I stumbled into the living room.
And there she was.
The Shadow Queen.
In my apartment. Wearing my hoodie again.
Feet up on the coffee table. Sipping bubble tea through a sparkly pink straw like she owned the place.
I stood there, my brain still booting up, staring at the living embodiment of danger and elegance… trying to blow bubbles into her drink.
"What… are you doing?"
She glanced at me over the rim of the cup, eyes gleaming with that dangerous mischief.
"Assimilating into mortal culture. And also… this beverage is delightful."
I ran a hand through my hair, already regretting waking up.
"Okay, real question—why are you still here?"
She stood up, pulling the hoodie sleeves over her hands like some overgrown kitten pretending not to be a cosmic-level threat.
"I've moved in," she declared simply.
"You… what?"
"Moved in. As your Queen and soon-to-be cohabitant, it's only logical."
"Logical?! We're not even—!" I choked. "You don't just—people don't just move in like that!"
She smiled sweetly.
"People don't usually bind life contracts with Shadow Monarchs either, yet here we are."

I sighed in defeat.
This… was my life now.
And part of me was starting to realize…
Maybe I didn't mind it as much as I should.
