Evie woke up with a feeling of restlessness. Everything still felt uncertain, and she was on edge just thinking about the bait Marcus suggested they had to set to trap Callum.
Had Tommy agreed to it?
She still hadn't seen him since the drama in the foyer. Evie sat curled on the edge of the bed. The room was dark, and it added to her unease. She reached out and fiddled with the button of the desk lamp. The sudden dim glow of the lamp cast soft shadows around her. Just then, her phone buzzed.
Tara. Good, she needed a distraction.
She answered quickly. "Hi, Tara!"
"Hey, boss," Tara sounded bright enough. "I was just checking in. Are we still keeping the shop closed all week?"
Evie rubbed her forehead. "Yeah, that was the plan. Why?"
