Chapter Eighteen – Allie

She knew what she had to do.

If Mara was part of her, she couldn't outrun her.

But maybe…

Maybe she could trap her.

Allie began recording everything. Herself. Her routines. Her voice. Every night she set up surveillance, talking softly into the mic before bed:

"If you wake up, Mara, please… don't kill anyone."

The next morning, she found the camera turned around.

And the audio file overwritten.

Her own voice, but crueler. Mocking.

"Then stop giving me reasons to."
