I shook my head, trying to banish the lingering heat from my dream.
"Did you have a nightmare?" he asked, his voice gentler than I expected.
I shook my head again. "No."
But I should have said yes. That's what it was, wasn't it? A nightmare disguised as something else entirely. Something that left me aching and confused and standing here in a garden at midnight, staring at the very person who had starred in it.
"What kind of dream then?"
