The air was still thick, as if reality itself hadn't fully settled after what had just happened. Akihiko, Isabella, and Kael left the Obsidian Club without saying a word, their minds still caught up in what they had just witnessed. Ezra wasn't just another murderer. He was something that shouldn't exist, a being who played with reality and oblivion.
"Are you okay?" Isabella asked softly as they walked down a dark alley.
Akihiko nodded slowly. "I don't know what exactly happened... but I do know that Ezra isn't just ordinary. His power... it's not just lethal. It's absolute."
Kael looked at his handheld device. "I checked it ten times... There's no trace of him in any records. It's like he was never in the club. Like he never existed."
Akihiko frowned. "That's because that's its power. It doesn't just kill... it erases."
Isabella clenched her fists. "Then we need to figure out how to stop him before it's too late."
The Moving Shadows
In the distance, in an abandoned skyscraper in Neo-Prague, a group of figures gathered in the shadows. Men and women from different factions of the criminal underworld, all with one thing in common: fear. Fear of Ezra and what his presence meant.
"Viktor is dead, and now this man moves like he owns the world," said a German mafia boss, his voice shaking.
"We can't confront it if we don't know what it really is," responded a South American cartel leader.
A silver-haired woman wearing a long coat stood up from her seat. "There's only one man who's ever faced something like this before... Akihiko Sora."
Murmurs filled the room. Everyone knew who he was. The man who defied fate.
An Italian drug lord, with a scar across his face, banged the table hard. "What if he doesn't want to get involved? Or what if Ezra has already marked him? If Sora disappears... we're finished."
The silver-haired woman stared at him. "If you don't do anything, we'll disappear anyway. And Ezra will get everything."
Absolute silence. Fear gripped everyone present.
The Last Message
Back in his hideout, Akihiko felt his communicator vibrate. It was an anonymous message with just one line of text:
"See you in the City of Oblivion. There I'll tell you the truth."
There was no signature. There was no trace of who sent it.
Isabella read it over her shoulder. "What now?"
Akihiko closed his eyes for a moment, letting the words echo in his mind. Oblivion City. A place he'd only heard rumors about. A ghost town on the edge of the criminal underworld, a place where those who betrayed the mafias went to disappear.
"This could be a trap," Kael muttered, frowning. "If Ezra can erase people, what guarantees do we have that whoever sent this isn't playing us?"
"Nothing," Akihiko replied coldly. "But if there's a truth about Ezra, it's there. And we can't afford to ignore it."
Isabella crossed her arms. "If we go, we go prepared. We don't know what awaits us."
Akihiko nodded. "We'll prepare tonight. Tomorrow... we'll head to Oblivion City."
Because if there was a truth that could defeat Ezra, she had to find it before it was too late.
