I. The awakening of the warrior
The air in the shelter was heavy, saturated with sap and tension. Akihiko prepared for the coming battle. His mark pulsed with a deep purple glow, and his katana emanated a halo of black sap that seemed to throb with a life of its own.
"Betrayal has poisoned one of our own," Ikari said, adjusting the bandages on his arm. "We can't allow it to spread."
Akihiko nodded. He knew the only way to stop him was to confront the traitors on their own ground.
II. The powers awaken
In Gure Fortress, Raito wasn't just plotting; he'd activated his inherited power, a gift tied to his clan: the manipulation of the corroded root . His body seemed clad in a living, dark, twisting armor that could extend into sharp spines and tentacles of poisonous sap.
"Tonight, the rotten root will consume whoever opposes it," he murmured, feeling the power grow in his veins.
His conspirators also demonstrated skill. One launched a shower of razor-sharp leaves, another summoned shadows that whispered forgotten secrets to confuse his enemies.
III. The confrontation
The ambush was brutal. Akihiko, Sora, and their allies were attacked in the forest near the Gure clan ruins. The living roots responded to Sora's chant, forming barriers that repelled Raito's black thorns.
Akihiko drew his katana and enveloped it in purple sap that burned away the corruption, severing tentacles and freeing his comrades.
"We will not allow corruption to take root in the Tree," Akihiko shouted, his voice resonating with the power of ancient sap.
IV. The duel of the root and corruption
The clash between Akihiko and Raito was a show of power. Akihiko's pure sap and Raito's corrupted root clashed with every blow, every movement, while the ground trembled beneath their feet.
Sora used his ancestral chant to strengthen Akihiko and weaken the traitors, its notes awakening memories buried in the earth.
Raito, desperate, extended his poisoned tentacles, trying to catch Akihiko and absorb his life energy.
But Akihiko, with a scream that seemed to come from the Tree itself, launched a slash that cleansed the corruption, leaving Raito exposed and defeated.
V. The calm before the storm
The battle was over, but the wounds on the ground and in hearts remained open.
Ikari cared for the wounded while Akihiko and Sora gazed at the forest around them, knowing that this victory was just one step in a much larger war.
"This is just the beginning," Sora said firmly. "The root of the corruption is deeper than we thought."
VI. A shadow lurks
In the distance, from the shadows, a figure watched the battle. A woman with cold eyes and a sharp smile.
It was Mizuki .
"So the Wounded One and the Voice begin to sing together," he murmured. "Soon, the whole Tree will know the true meaning of pain."
