Lennox cornered her in the hallway, his amber eyes troubled. “You didn’t deserve that.”
“Didn’t I?” Olivia challenged. “Wasn’t it you who told the entire pack that the daughter of a traitor should be treated as less than human?”
“I was wrong,” he admitted. “We all were.”
“Three years, Lennox. Three years of serving as your Omega, of being spat on, of watching you three worship the ground Anita walks on while I’m nothing but a shameful secret.”
From the shadows, Levi’s voice emerged. “The Moon Goddess bound us for a reason.”
Olivia’s bitter laugh echoed through the corridor. “And you’ve fought that reason every step of the way.”
“We didn’t know,” Louis appeared beside his brothers, forming the triangle that had always made Olivia feel trapped. “About your father, about the conspiracy—”
“So that’s what it takes?” she asked, voice trembling. “My father’s name being cleared for you to acknowledge me as your Luna? As your mate?”
“No,” Lennox reached for her. “It’s seeing your strength, your resilience despite everything we put you through.”
“We were cruel,” Levi admitted.
“We were wrong,” Louis echoed.
Olivia looked at each of them, these three powerful Alphas now regarding her with something approaching reverence.
Olivia’s smile held no warmth. “Now I realize some wounds cut too deep to heal. You can’t break someone for years and expect them to be whole for you when it’s convenient.”
I read all the free chapters and have decided not to continue reading. I don't think it should have left off where it did. It comes off as super cliche, even though the author has said that there are twists later in the story. Up 'til the end of the free chapters, this story doesn't feel unique. I've read several other stories with this same plotline. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt in assuming that the autbor has something in mind. So, if you want readers to continue reading a longer story, then the free chapters should go further or the story needs to get to the point quicker on the first twist. Personally, I think the free chapters are too short. I personally don't like books that make the FL suffer so much in the beginning. It feels like the next 50 chapters are going to be the same cliche insult after insult from her supposed 'love interests' and I already don't like the triplets. There haven't been any scenes that hint at a redemption for them yet. The author hints that they liked her in the past, but... Nah. I don't feel it.
