Encounter

Lily didn't want to waste more time looking at her mother in that state, so she decided to head back to the Rosario Mansion to make sure that there was no way for them to find out that they had taken the car out for something like that. 

Lily was still new to the family, but she felt that they were not telling her something, and it was a bit scary for her to be walking on grounds like that with them. She knew that she needed to make sure that nothing would make her mission feel a bit wasted. 

Once she got to the house, she paused inside the car, not trying to get down at the moment but trying to stay inside there for some time as she collected her thoughts. She needed to ensure she did it before returning to the Devil's Domain. 

'Think, Lily, you need to clear your thoughts before you make him see you have something up your sleeve.' Lily didn't want Lucien to look at her like she was some kind of nut job and she knew that there was no way he would even want to let her walk away that easily since he knew that she wasn't the one he was meant to be married to in the first place. 

Lily took one last breath before she opened the door and stepped down. She was not going to let anything make her even think of being scared for a minute there. It was going to be the end of her if she let them get into her head like that. 

Lily slowly walked to the door. She knew what was going to be waiting for her. There were not going to be hugs and kisses; it was going to be the prying eyes of the family members. She felt that Granny Ophelia would be the only person in the family ready to make her feel like she was not an impostor. 

"Here goes nothing," Lily said before she pushed the door open. She looked around to see that the living room was a bit empty, and it looked like no one was there. She knew that they were hiding or they were ignoring her, it was a bit unclear what was going on, but she was not going to waste time standing there. 

She walked in trying to avoid everyone, but someone had noticed her. 

"Well, if it isn't the Lauded Daughter-in-law of our beloved family," A voice rang in the back. Lily slowly turned back to see Eric looking at her. He was not a fan of her, and he also didn't like the fact that she was the one marrying Lucien. 

Lily didn't say anything, she knew that he hated her and he would do anything to make sure that there was no room for her in the house, but she was there for her mission and there was no way anything would push her away. 

"So I noticed you drove off with my cousin's car. I wonder who you think you are. Just because you were given the chance to be married into this family doesn't mean you can do whatever you want! You are here 'cause your dumb father couldn't work and pay up the money he owed us, so he sold you and tried to make sure that there was no way he would be caught up with things like that." Eric was not going to spare Lily in any way; he was going to make sure that there was something he would do to make her feel like a failure, and he would be happy with what he was doing. 

Lily knew that she was not meant to say anything that would make anyone angry or even think of hurting her like that. But then the man in front of her was saying things about the people who raised her, till she was a woman who could think for herself. 

"I know I am not meant to be here. I never begged for this fate, but I have to live with it now, and so do you." Lily looked at Eric. She was not scared of him, but would not make it look like she was afraid of the man in front of her. 

"What are you saying?! You think you have a say in this house?! How dare you talk to me like that?" Eric walks close to Lily, but she does not let him talk to her like she were nothing but someone who needs to know how she will be walking around the house. 

"I didn't say anything wrong, I only told you that I would not stand here and watch you say that I dragged myself into the family like I begged to be here." Lily was looking at Eric, She was not happy that he was trying to make her feel like she was some kind of fool for doing what she did for her uncle's family. 

Eric was looking at Lily and didn't know what he was going to say, but had things in mind. He looked at her disdainfully, he was not going to keep taking the insult. "You will learn that there is no other law in this house aside from the ones we give, you are nothing here, you hear me? Lucien might have settled for you, but you are going to do one thing, and that is listen to me when I am speaking to you." Eric walked up to Lily, he was not going to let her say anything that would make it look like she was someone bigger. 

Lily looked Eric in the eye, she was not the type of person who would let anyone think they could walk on her mission or any mission. She was not going to let anyone make her feel bad instead, she would make sure that she would handle it. "I wonder if you are yelling to fill in the size you lack down there." Lily tilted her neck to look at Eric's lower region. 

Eric looked down at her and immediately realized she was mocking him. "Why you insignificant little bitch!" Eric raised his hand to hit Lily, but Lily, on the other hand, forgot she was trying to be undercover and prepared to deal with him. 

"Enough!!" A voice roared from the door, both turned to see Lucien standing there wearing a cold expression on his face.
