Rank 0 yui

Morning light filters through the broken roof of Dormitory Aegis. Repairs are underway. Burnt claw marks remain on the walls.

> Narration: The beast is gone. But silence breeds suspicion.

> Panel: Students glance sideways at Yui as he walks past, bandaged and tired.

> Whisper 1: "He's the janitor, right? How'd he survive that?"

> Whisper 2: "I heard he used cursed magic."

Yui stands before three robed Academy Officials in a dark, rune-lined room.

> Teacher 1 (stern): "You were seen wielding a spectral shard. That's forbidden magic."

> Yui (quietly): "It wasn't mine. It broke off the beast—"

> Teacher 2 (cold): "How convenient."

> Panel: A magical orb shows a replay of the fight — distorted, unclear.

> Teacher 3 (murmuring): "Perhaps the boy lured it in himself. A stunt for attention."

Cut to: Students in the courtyard crowd around Kael.

> Kael (mocking): "Poor Yui. First powerless, now a criminal."

> Student: "Wait… are they actually saying he summoned the beast?"

> Kael (smirking): "Who else had something to gain?"

> Panel: A poster on a board — "PUBLIC TRIAL DUEL: Yui vs ??? – Tomorrow."

Yui sits on the edge of the training yard alone. His wooden sword lies beside him.

> Yui (thinking): "No one believes me. Not even the staff."

> Panel: His fist clenches. The white light pulses faintly under the skin of his arm.

Lucen appears behind him, arms crossed.

> Lucen: "Then show me what's growing inside you. No lies. No holding back."

> Panel: Training begins — Lucen strikes fast, Yui blocks barely, eyes burning with focus.

Yui is knocked down again and again — but keeps standing.

> Lucen (thinking): "His movements... they're sharpening mid-fight."

> Lucen: "You're feeding on the struggle. Adapting."

> Yui (panting): "It hurts… but I learn."

> Narration: His body remembers what his mind can't yet explain.

In the staff room, a debate rages.

> Teacher A: "If he truly holds Spectral energy, he's dangerous."

> Teacher B: "If he doesn't, then he's just lucky. Either way, he doesn't belong."

> Teacher C: "Let the duel decide."

Kael walks a dark hallway. The cloaked figure from before appears.

> Cloaked Figure: "If he doesn't… step two begins."

> Panel: A scroll is handed to Kael — glowing red with unknown runes.

> Narration: One day. One duel. One chance to rise.

> Panel: Students whisper as he passes.

> Whisper: "Let's see what the freak really is."

Yui stands at the center of the arena under the rising sun. His hand brushes the glowing light in his chest.

> Yui (thinking): "Let them doubt. Let them lie."

> Yui (determined): "I'll show them all what Rank 0 means."
