Chapter 91: True Anger

As the group approached the streets near the farm in the carriage, they heard faint screams from a distance.

"Damn it!" Silas's face instantly darkened upon hearing this, anger burning in his heart.

"I already said this is my city, yet you still dare to be so presumptuous!" At this moment, Silas, for the first time, felt true anger and cursed out loud.

Silas didn't notice that, unconsciously, some of his thoughts had already entered the state of his divine self in the dream.

"Fall back! Fall back!" At this time, a large number of police officers in front were maintaining order, clearing the crowd while preventing outsiders from entering.

"Everyone, please step back. We are currently conducting an operation to eliminate a cult. For the safety of the people's property, please try not to approach this area to prevent accidental injury!"

In the distance, the police chiefs of the East and West City police stations stood together, shouting loudly through a megaphone.

Silas had no time to glance at the police chief he hadn't had a chance to meet. He said in a low voice, "Follow me!"

Then, Silas took out his police badge and led the group against the crowd towards the police blockade.

"Unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter!" a police officer with a large beard, leading the way, shouted.

"Unauthorized my ass!" Silas strode forward and said to the bearded police officer, "Jack, don't you recognize me?"

The bearded police officer was taken aback, focused his attention, and then looked pleasantly surprised. "My heavens, you're finally here! It's a big mess inside. There are many cultists…"

Saying this, Jack pulled Silas over and warned in a low voice, "A very terrifying vampire just arrived. His Lordship the Bishop is leading people to besiege the vampire!"

"Besiege the vampire, my ass!" Silas cursed inwardly, then said in a low voice to Jack, "These people behind me are all senior mystics, introduced to me by Master Jeros to handle this matter. Let us in quickly!"

Jack was not an inflexible police officer. After looking at the professional-looking Bart and the mysterious Adeline, he immediately stepped aside. "Go quickly! Be careful. I heard a priest has already sacrificed himself."

Silas nodded. The five people and one dog quickly passed through the blockade and hurried towards the suburbs along the empty streets within the sealed-off area.

Rustle, rustle…

While running, the group heard a harsh, piercing scream.

Looking up, they saw countless bats circling in the distant dark sky.

Swish!

After a dazzling, thick bolt of lightning flashed, numerous fine electric arcs appeared.

The numerous electric arcs instantly dispersed some of the bats in the sky.

Adeline, seeing this, said in an ominous tone, "Randall is under attack. That is the Secret Treasure held by Bishop Rhode: the Thunder Branch."

"Thunder Branch?" Silas had never heard of it.

Adeline explained, "Jeros told me this. It was an ordinary withered iron tree branch. Later, after being stained with the blood and brain matter of a certain mad mystic, it underwent a strange mutation after being repeatedly struck by lightning, thus being able to generate a large amount of lightning."

"Truly worthy of being the bishop in charge of a city!" Bart sighed inwardly upon hearing this.

Silas currently had no time to study Secret Treasures. "Will Jeadell be alright?"

"Don't worry about that. As a high-level vampire, he won't be killed by humans," Adeline explained.

Silas nodded, staring at the battle situation over there, clutching his cane. "This insider is really powerful. He can actually lead Bishop Ron to Randall, making him think Randall is also a member of the Green Flame Brotherhood, thus initiating a battle. He managed to delay two unstable factors here at once."

"However, even if you could calculate this step, could you also calculate Adeline and the two Demonesses by my side?"

His brain working rapidly, Silas's eyes flickered with a brilliant light as he said in a low voice, "Try to avoid contact with clergymen. If you encounter those despicable intruders, show no mercy, kill them directly!"

Hearing this, Helles and Bernice simultaneously bared their teeth, a gust of cold air emitting from their mouths. They said eagerly, "Yes, Lord Apostle."

Adeline, beside them, felt these two gusts of cold air, and two beams of brilliant light burst from her eyes. "Is this His divine power!?"

Just as the group was running, two black shadows suddenly rushed out and attacked them.

"Get out of the way!" Bart shouted, grabbing Bernice beside him and dodging backward.

However, the other black shadow attacking Helles froze directly upon reaching her.

In the darkness, two claws, one large and one small, grabbed each other.

"Small ghouls, be careful. Ordinary demon-hunting bullets have no effect on them," Adeline reminded.

This ghoul had a body similar to a human but possessed non-human large claws and feet. Its entire body's skin was festering and decayed. It had no nose, and on its wide head was a ferocious mouth that could easily crush a human head.

At this moment, one of its claws was grabbing Helles's hand, while the other hand was pinching Helles's neck.

However, similarly, Helles's other hand was also pinching its neck.

"You are a Demoness!?" The small ghoul's intelligence was very high; it recognized Helles's true identity at a glance.

Helles bared her fang-filled mouth, her scarlet vertical pupils staring at him as she said hoarsely, "Die! Despicable intruder!"

With that, her arm, covered in black scales, suddenly exerted force, actually lifting the small ghoul by its neck, then, with a violent swing, threw him out like a rag doll.

The ghoul was very cunning. The moment it was thrown out, it rolled and merged into the darkness, turned, and ran!

The other ghoul, seeing this, didn't hesitate at all and quickly merged into the darkness.

"Trying to run!?" Bernice's almond-shaped eyes widened, and her arm suddenly swung forward.

Swish, swish, swish!

Instantly, three sharp dinner knives shot out like arrows loosed from a bowstring.

A breath later, they accurately hit the ghoul's back.

Unfortunately, the ghoul's skin was very special. These untreated ordinary dinner knives, no matter how sharp, couldn't pierce their skin.

The two Demonesses wanted to pursue but were stopped by Silas. "Don't let them distract you. Our current target is the sacrificial magic circle over there!"

Adeline suddenly suggested, "If we leave them alone, they will definitely come looking for trouble again. I'll go deal with them and come find you later."

Silas pondered for a moment upon hearing this. "Given the current situation, even if Adeline temporarily leaves, it won't be a big problem. With two Demonesses and Bart, the battle can still be managed. Let's deal with those two cunning ghouls separately first to prevent future trouble."

After thinking, Silas nodded in agreement. "Alright, go and return quickly."

Afterward, the four continued forward. Adeline casually took out a crystal ball from her bosom.

"Alright, Cold Church, it's time to settle our private scores," Adeline said, then disappeared into the night with a grim expression.
