Chapter 100: Have to Agree!

Chapter 100: Have to Agree!

While the Five Elders were discussing how to deal with the Red Nose Pirates, Sandersonia had already brought Buggy and the others back to the villa on Rusukaina.

Seeing Shiliew step off the stone slab, Mihawk's brow twitched slightly.

"Long time no see, Hawkeye. I didn't expect we'd meet again," Shiliew said to Mihawk, his fighting spirit soaring.

"Want to have a match? It just so happens I haven't found anyone I can go all out against for a while," Shiliew's fighting spirit was high, and Mihawk's interest was piqued as well.

"Anytime." Also a master swordsman, Shiliew would never back down even if he knew his strength was inferior to Mihawk's. After all, a swordsman's dignity was at stake.

"You two can wait a bit for your fight. Let's see the World Government's reaction first. Don't waste your strength for nothing just because we've taken in a new member," Buggy immediately stepped in to stop the two swordsmen's spar.

"Captain, the fruit I want, when are we going to find it? I can't wait to prove to Hawkeye that my Sword of Heavy Rain, with enough power, is something he absolutely cannot block."

Hearing Shiliew's words, Mihawk's brow twitched again, and he looked at Buggy.

"Yes, the only condition for Shiliew agreeing to the invitation was to help him get a Devil Fruit that can increase his strength by more than ten times after eating it. I have an idea of what fruit to look for, but I'm not sure by how much more than ten times the amplification effect will be. But we must wait until the World Government's attitude is clear before we act," after speaking, Buggy looked at Mihawk with a hint of inquiry in his expression.

Shaking his head, Mihawk showed no interest in Devil Fruits.

"I have already entered the 'gentle blade' stage. I don't want to rely on external forces to enhance my strength. But thank you anyway," Mihawk directly stated that his need for a Devil Fruit was zero.

As for the 'thank you' he mentioned, it wasn't for Buggy asking him about Devil Fruits, but for bringing back a powerful swordsman companion for him.

For Mihawk, the frequency of battles in the Red Nose Pirates was a bit low, and the opponents he faced were either not worth his attention or not satisfying enough to go all out against. Life was quite boring. Mihawk was even prepared to ask for a few days off to go to the New World to test his recent gains against Red-Haired Shanks.

Buggy had actually seen Mihawk's loneliness, which was why he had thought of recruiting a swordsman strong enough to be a new member.

And among the strong swordsmen that Buggy knew of who were not affiliated, there were only two: the future Marine Admiral Fujitora, who would be specially recruited in a few years, and the imprisoned Head Jailer Shiliew in Impel Down.

Between these two, Buggy ultimately chose Shiliew simply because he believed that the already imprisoned Shiliew would be much easier to persuade than Fujitora.

As for Fujitora, Buggy was not at all certain whether that blind man held any prejudice against pirates. With the threat of the World Government, Buggy wouldn't casually waste time, which was what prompted his risky invasion of Impel Down.

After the introductions, Buggy had Hawkins take Shiliew to his room. Looking at the sky in the distance, Buggy knew that all that was left now was to wait.

For ordinary people, waiting is a long process, especially when waiting for something that has a major impact on their lives; it can feel like every day is a year.

Although the final decision of the World Government directly affected the future situation of the Red Nose Pirates, Buggy was not an ordinary person, so naturally, he didn't feel like every day was a year.

Even if the result was terrible, for Buggy, it was just a result. The future of the Red Nose Pirates would ultimately be decided by their fists. As long as their strength was sufficient, they would be feared by the World Government, just like the Whitebeard Pirates.

A day later, Buggy, who was busy teaching the Kung-Fu Dugongs and the Human Drills, finally received news.

According to Buggy's prediction, if the World Government had no reaction after his invasion of Impel Down, it would be the worst possible outcome, meaning the Five Elders were planning to deal with him.

If what came was a bounty poster with an increased reward, the result would be relatively better. At least it would mean that the World Government would not be free to strike at him recently.

Alright, Buggy had to admit that from beginning to end, he had absolutely not anticipated that what would arrive would be a letter of recruitment from the World Government.

Looking at the recruitment letter brought by Sandersonia, Buggy frowned slightly.

"Brother Buggy, what are your plans regarding the World Government's invitation for you to join the Seven Warlords of the Sea?" Hancock asked, looking at the frowning Buggy.

"I'm afraid we don't have a choice for the time being," Buggy shook his head and said with a sigh.

"Why don't we have a choice?" Marigold asked, not quite understanding.

"You fool, it's because this recruitment letter was sent to our hands. The meaning of the Five Elders is already very clear. If Brother Buggy doesn't agree, my title of Warlord of the Sea will probably be revoked immediately, and what will follow will likely be the Marine fleet and the main forces of the World Government," Sandersonia, however, had understood the underlying meaning of the recruitment letter.

"That's indeed the case. Ever since the trouble brought by Dr. Indigo, I've been placed on the key investigation list. The World Government is certainly very clear about our relationship, and even more so, they understand that I couldn't possibly implicate you all for my own reasons. That's why they delivered the letter to your hands," nodding, Buggy very much agreed with Sandersonia's words.

"So we have to listen to them, and even excavate the Southwest Tunnel as the Five Elders demand?" Paula, who had long since gathered around, asked Buggy, quite displeased.

"We have no choice, at least not for the next few years. With Kuja City out in the open, I have to compromise. But this compromise doesn't have to be long-term. As long as Sandersonia moves Kuja City into the shadows, I will have a choice. But that's for the future. For now, we have to agree, unless we plan to completely break ties and fight the World Government right now," Buggy explained to Paula.

"Actually, Brother Buggy, if we join forces, we might not necessarily lose, right?" Sandersonia suddenly said after pondering for a moment.

"That's true. But we would definitely have to go through a war to obtain peace. Let's not even talk about how much we would lose in the inevitable war. Let's talk about after the war. Our two factions would inevitably have to merge; otherwise, it would be difficult to survive under the threat of the World Government. I don't care who leads in the future, but I don't like this fleet model. Otherwise, I would have formed my own fleet from the beginning," nodding, Buggy agreed with Sandersonia's statement but also voiced his own concerns.
