Two-Faced Enemies

The next morning, Aria walked into the dining hall hoping for a quiet breakfast. Her head still hurt from the nightmare, and the feeling of being watched hadn't gone away. All she wanted was some toast and maybe a smile from someone who cared about her.

Instead, she got a cold shock that made her stomach drop.

Rowan stood at the head table with his back to her, but the moment she stepped into the room, his whole body went stiff. He turned around slowly, and when his silver-gray eyes met hers, they were full of disgust.

"Look what crawled out of bed," he said loudly enough for everyone to hear. "I was hoping you'd stay hidden in your room all day." Aria stopped walking.

The room fell silent. Every wolf in the dining hall turned to stare at her, their faces shocked and uncomfortable.

"Rowan?" Aria whispered, confused. "What's wrong?"
