The press conference wasn't Kira's idea.

It was Rina's.

Which shocked everyone—including Kira.

"Let me say something," Rina had whispered the night before."They've heard from you. They expect you to control the narrative. But they've never heard from me. And I'm not just some side note."

And for once, Kira… said nothing.

She just nodded.

🎤 Syntek Press Room – The Next Day

Rows of cameras. Reporters. Mics like weapons, all angled at the podium.

Kira sat to the side—stone-faced.

Rina walked out alone.

She looked… small. In her jeans and simple blazer. Hair tied up, no makeup. Just her.

But she wasn't trembling.

"Hi. My name is Rina Min."

The crowd murmured.

"I'm not an executive. I'm not from old money. I don't own shares in Syntek. I pour coffee. I talk to tired employees. I give extra whipped cream when it's clearly been a hard day."

A laugh rippled through the room.

She went on:

"Yes, I'm in a relationship with Kira Yoon. Yes, she's the CEO. No, she didn't bribe me, manipulate me, or seduce me with power."

"I liked her before I knew her title. I liked her because she was awkward ordering a mocha the first time and couldn't remember her punch card. I liked her because she listened."

Rina's voice got softer—but stronger.

"I'm not a scandal. I'm not a secret. I'm a person.And I won't apologize for being loved."

🧊 Helena – Watching From Afar

Helena turned away from the TV, face unreadable.

"That girl's smarter than she looks," she muttered.

A junior assistant handed her a file.

"Should I prep the board for retaliation?"

Helena stared at the headline forming on screen:

"CEO's Girlfriend Speaks: Rina Min Turns Tables in Viral Press Conference"

"No," Helena said."Let them think they've won."

Her smile was thin.

"I prefer a long game."

🧠 Kira – After the Conference

They met backstage.

Kira said nothing.

She just pulled Rina into her arms, holding her like she was the last real thing in a world of noise.

"You did it," Kira whispered.

"I meant every word."

Kira pulled back, brushing Rina's cheek.

"I know. That's what scared me."
