Chapter Thirty Three

Lopen

Davin —alongside the handpicked beta team— begins to clear out the civilians in the omega facility.

"You can't do this, Lopen" Theodore roared in rage. "You can't ruin my binding ceremony"

Oh, shut up, Theodore. "I'm not the villain here" I remind him. "Kent is"

I glanced down at my watch. "16 minutes left. Better hurry up and evacuate assemblyman Theodore—unless, you want to get burned down with Kent's sins, that is—"

"You—"

"Alpha Lopen, I found something" Davin calls out, running up to me with a file in his hands.

Retrieving it, the file was titled: PROJECT X. Turning the file open and reading through it's content, I roared. "It's just as I thought"

"What is it, Lopen?" Assemblyman Theodore asked, with his piqued curiosity.

I tossed the file over to him as he read through in disbelief. "Is this true? Is Kent having a project to breed the unborn children of known alphas?"

I scowled at Theodore in disgust. "Why ask me when that's exactly what it says in the papers?"

"I just can't believe it" With a determined look, Theodore says. "Let me help you find Kent"

"I don't need your help"

"Don't you want to find your bride?"

I grabbed Theodore by his collar forcefully. "Don't bring Emmiel into this"

"I'm just saying; you need to get your bride back right?"

I narrowed my eyes at him. "What's in it for you?"

"Me? I just need to teach that Kent a lesson that I'm not a force to be reckoned with"

A soft chuckle escaped through my lips. Never did I think I'd find assemblyman Theodore such a delight.

Indeed the enemy of my enemy is a friend. "Deal"

"First, I think you shouldn't burn down the facility just yet" Assemblyman Theodore says. "There might be more files like this. While we wait for your 16 minutes.."

"It's 12 now"

"Let your team do a proper sweep of the facilty. Anything we find that could be used against Kent would go a long way" He paused. "By the way, don't we need to find the big dog?"

"The big dog?"

"It's obvious Kent is just a small fry" Theodore states. "There's someone behind him. He couldn't possibly play a project this big without financial funds from a big party"

I'd thought about this as well but as long as that "big party" was just working behind fbe scene and hadn't crossed paths with me, I didn't care.

"You can find him if you want for the thrill of it" I state. "As for me, all I want is my bride and to watch Kent suffer. He's the one I have to settle the score with"

"I hear you"

Davin re-enters. "All civilians have been evacuated and after a thorough sweep of the area.." He hands over a pile of files to me. "These were all the files we could get"

Retrieving it from his hands, I asked. "Has the whole place been filled with petrol?"

"Yes, alpha"

I turned to face Theodore with a lighter in my hand. "I'm burning down this place now"

Theodore extends his hands out to me. "The lighter. Let me do the honours"

"I never thought I'd ever say this but; I'm starting to like you, Theodore" I admit, placing the lighter in his hands. "Torch the place up"

Theodore opens the lighter and drops it to the ground. We watched the omega facility lit up in flames right before our very eyes.

Just then, my phone rings interrupting the glorious moment. It was Cairn. "What is it?"

"I've found your bride"

A slows smile creeps up my lips. "I knew you could do it"

"But we have a problem"

"Which is?"

"He's being kept in Leklom"

I stilled. Leklom was a fortress-like island that wasn't highly protected with militas and high-tech.

It is known as a place where omega experimentation, special breeding and many more are carried out.

"Leklom" I say, snapping out of my trance. "How did Kent get access to that place?"

"I don't know" Cairn says, impatiently. "I've done my part of the deal so now, do yours"

"Mind your tone with me, Cairn" I warned. "I'm already pissed off as is"

"I've always been a man of my word" I continued. "I said I'll reinstate you so I'll do it. In the next few minutes, I'll send someone to pick you up. Don't be late"

Hanging up, Theodore noticed the change in my expression. "What is it?" He asked.

"Do you still have intent in finding the big boss?"

"Yes, I do"

"Good. I'll give you my support"

Theodore's eyes widened with surprise. "What made you change your mind?"

"Leklom did"

"Leklom? What does that have to do with anything?"

"Kent ran off with my bride to Leklom" I explained. "There's no way, he would have been able to get access to that place all by himself"

"So, I was right" Thoeodor says. "But why would anyone that high in class join hands with Kent?"

"Money" I say, as a matter of fact. That was also the reason why I killed people as per client's request.

The rich always wanted to get richer. It was a norm.

Strolling out of the omega facility, Theodore stops me. "Are you leaving to Leklom now?"

"Yes"

"Let me come with"

I laughed, wholeheartedly. "I appreciate your help so far Theodore but do you really want a news to spread about an assemblyman entering an illegal island"

"You're entering"

"I'm not the one in politics" I countered. "And beside, it's something everyone knows I'm capable of doing"

"Then what should I be doing while you go reprimand Kent?"

I tossed over the retrieved files to him. "You can go through this. You like reading, don't you?"

Theodore takes it without putting up much of a fight. "Just promise me something"

"What?"

"When you get Kent, don't kill him just yet"

I snickered. "Fine. I promise. But by the time Kent is brought to you, he'd be close to dead"
