"It's the 'Execution of Light'—the one tied to Terra of the Left," Index Su Mo revealed directly. "Our current constitution doesn't align with any of the four Archangels—Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, or Uriel. We simply don't have the right affinities. In fact, under normal circumstances, we wouldn't qualify for any of the Right Seat rituals."
This was something even the Pope and Fiamma of the Right had speculated correctly. While Su Mo could absorb many different power systems, he lacked the bloodline traits or specific affinities required for these particular rituals. Technically speaking, he shouldn't have been able to use any of them.
"However, the Execution of Light is a bit different," Index Su Mo patiently explained. "This ritual is built on the legend of the execution of the Son of God. According to Christian doctrine, mortals should never have been able to kill a divine being. Gods reside atop the Tree of Life; humans are at the bottom. Something lower should not be able to harm something higher. Yet in the New Testament, the Son of God was executed by ordinary Roman soldiers. In that moment, the hierarchy between man and god was reversed. Where once gods stood above humans, the order was flipped—humans stood above gods."
"Based on this theological paradox, Terra of the Left created a ritual that inverts priority itself—the Execution of Light. And unlike the other Right Seat rituals, this one doesn't require any special affinity with the Archangel Raphael."
Though technically an angelic ritual, Terra's version differed from the others, having been built around the story of the Son of God rather than angelic lore. As a result, it didn't require any specific affinity with Raphael.
"However, we do have an affinity for slaying gods," Fairy Tail Su Mo quickly grasped the point. "If we can tap into our God Slayer constitution for this ritual, it really is a perfect match."
Indeed, the very foundation of the Execution of Light was the act of humans killing a god—a concept that perfectly aligned with Su Mo's identity as a God Slayer. No one was more suited to wield this ritual than them.
"Exactly," Index Su Mo nodded. "Thanks to our God Slayer affinity, we can directly use the Execution of Light Ritual. And with our strength, its effects should surpass even what Terra of the Left was capable of."
"Not bad at all," DanMachi Su Mo rubbed his chin, feeling rather satisfied. "Though Terra's own performance with this ritual was kind of pathetic—he's probably the weakest member of the Right Seat."
"But as a support skill, this ritual is practically god-tier," Index Su Mo explained. The Execution of Light was a technique that manipulated priority levels. In its presence, concepts of strength and weakness became meaningless. For example, under normal logic, a blade is stronger than human skin—hence it can easily cut through flesh. But if the ritual reversed their priority—putting the blade below and human skin above—then even the sharpest sword would fail to break a baby's skin. The strong could be made weak, and the weak strong. In that sense, this was a perfect support-type ability.
Of course, while Terra of the Left himself had produced dismal results due to his own incompetence, the potential of the ritual was undeniable. For instance, if Kanzaki Kaori had this ritual when facing Archangel Gabriel, she could have simply applied the "Saint above, Angel below" buff. That might have allowed her to overpower Gabriel's incomplete form directly. After all, type advantage often trumps raw power.
Ultimately, the Execution of Light Ritual wasn't ideal as a direct offensive technique, but rather as a powerful auxiliary tool. Terra of the Left, essentially a buffer, foolishly charged into direct combat against the protagonist—and unsurprisingly, got flattened.
"With this ritual, things will be much easier for me," Fairy Tail Su Mo said, clearly pleased. "Whether fighting demons or dragons, type advantages make a huge difference."
In the Fairy Tail world, while demons were one thing, dragons posed a far greater problem due to their high resistance to magic. Even the Wizard Saint-level mages in the original story couldn't harm an ordinary dragon. Only Dragon Slayers who had mastered Dragon Slayer magic could bypass that resistance.
Of course, Su Mo wasn't worried about common dragons; with his God Slayer authorities, wiping them out would be easy. The real concern was Acnologia, the Black Dragon, who possessed extreme magic resistance. Most forms of magic were ineffective against him. And if even the power of God Slayer authorities was partially negated, dealing with the strongest boss would be troublesome—it might even require calling in Tiga as the trump card.
However, now that he had the Execution of Light Ritual, there was no need to rely on his final trump card. With this ritual, he could simply give himself a "super-effective against dragons" buff. Under these conditions, taking down Acnologia with his God Slayer powers wouldn't be much trouble at all.
"Well then, since everyone's on board," Index Su Mo nodded, "I'll go ahead and construct the ritual."
Although each Su Mo possessed the same knowledge and power, their familiarity with specific systems varied. Since the decision was made, it naturally fell to Index Su Mo to construct the ritual, as he was the most proficient with its intricate theory.
