Chapter 153: Character Summon Card

After leaving Liu Erlong's room, Zhao Ling realized that night had already fallen.

He called Housekeeper Qian to the courtyard and asked if anything interesting had happened in Heaven Dou City lately.

Housekeeper Qian immediately informed him that Emperor Xue Ye had issued a public decree, appointing Zhao Ling as the first royal consecrator and naming him the honorary godfather of Crown Prince Xue Qinghe.

Zhao Ling was somewhat speechless about this. Oh well, he would just observe how Xue Qinghe treated his newfound "godfather" in the future.

If Xue Qinghe showed him proper respect, Zhao Ling would consider offering him extra protection beyond the three promised interventions.

But if the prince was ungrateful—well, Zhao Ling wouldn't be blamed for being unkind.

Once Housekeeper Qian left, Zhao Ling sat alone in the courtyard, feeling bored. All three of his wives were currently resting in bed, so he had no one to "bother."

That naturally made him think of Bibi Dong, far away in Spirit Hall. So he pulled out his diary system and started venting.

[It's been over a week since I last saw Dong'er. I suddenly really miss her.]

[That damn Qian Xunji insisted I'd slow Dong'er's progress if I stayed in Spirit City, only letting me visit for a few days each month.]

[So annoying. Qian Xunji, mind your own business!]

[You're over fifty and still single. If this keeps up, how is your daughter Qian Renxue supposed to be born?]

[No Qian Renxue, no one for me to seduce! How can I become your son-in-law then? Think, man, think!]

[Also, let me warn you—just because I'm not in Spirit City doesn't mean you can harbor weird thoughts about my Dong'er. If you do, don't blame me for punching your head in.]

[Sure, I call you "teacher," but that doesn't mean I won't beat the crap out of you if you act like your original self. I'll beat you until you crap yourself, hmph…]

[Dong'er, just focus on your cultivation. Next time I visit, I'll bring a surprise—let's see if that old fart Qian Xunji still dares say I'm holding you back.]

After ranting, Zhao Ling clicked "upload" on the diary system. To his surprise, he received a strange card labeled "Character Summon Card," with a "+∞" symbol at the bottom.

He frowned slightly. What did this mean? Curious, he opened the system's description of the card:

Character Summon Card (Permanent):Can be used to summon characters from parallel timelines who were originally supposed to appear in the Douluo Continent but didn't, due to certain "chaotic operations" by the host. The summoned character will reappear in the world through a system-arranged method, with their age, strength, and memories optimized.Upon first meeting, their affection level toward the host will be at least 60 or higher.

Zhao Ling read the explanation carefully and felt a chill in his heart. With a serious expression, he asked the system:

"So you're saying that because I took in Bibi Dong and Ah Yin, some characters like Qian Renxue, Tang San, and even future ones like Tang Wutong, Tang Wulin, and Lan Xuanyu might never appear?"

If that were true, Zhao Ling felt it would make things a lot less fun. Qian Renxue was a real beauty, after all, and Tang Wutong was also quite nice.

As for Tang San, Tang Wulin, and Lan Xuanyu—well, if they never showed up, even better. Fewer people fighting over women. Wouldn't that make his life happier?

Just then, the system panel updated with a message:

[The Douluo world is not considered a high-level fantasy realm, so its world-correcting powers are limited.Unless a character has extremely high narrative significance (luck), their disappearance is likely permanent, with no chance of appearing again.]

Zhao Ling couldn't help but curse.

"Damn it! So if I take Dong'er and Yin'er home, Tang San will still appear due to the world's correctional power, but Qian Renxue might vanish for good? That's so unfair!"

"Qian Renxue became a first-tier god in the original! Sure, she was a final boss and cannon fodder villain, but she fought Tang San to a standstill! And now she just disappears?!"

Muttering to himself, he figured the system must have given him this card because it knew how much he wanted Qian Renxue—not wanting to let him down.

He had to admit, the system was pretty considerate. If it were a woman, he'd probably kiss her out of gratitude.

But just as that thought crossed his mind—BAM! A bolt of lightning lit up the sky, turning the imperial capital's night into day.

Before he could even react, Zhao Ling was struck. His hair stood on end, his body charred black, smoke curling from his mouth. The system panel now displayed a warning:

[Detected inappropriate thoughts toward this system. Host has been severely punished. If this happens again, punishment will be ten times worse.]

Maybe the system had adjusted the lightning's intensity according to his tolerance, or maybe it was thanks to his mid-tier Savage Battle Body.

Zhao Ling didn't suffer any real harm—he just felt numb all over, like he'd had a deep-tissue massage.

Rolling his eyes, Zhao Ling muttered, "System, damn you. I only thought about it—I didn't even say it out loud. Why are you so touchy?"

The system didn't respond, but thunder continued to rumble overhead. Zhao Ling shrugged, deciding he couldn't win an argument with this petty system.

He stood up and tapped open the Character Summon Card, entering the name: "Qian Renxue."

As soon as he confirmed, the system displayed an image of a woman in her early twenties. Her snow-white skin, straight nose, and slender phoenix eyes radiated a powerful beauty.

She wore a golden palace gown, with a small six-winged angel mark on her brow and massive angelic wings spreading from her back, making her appear stunningly divine.

"Wow… amazing. Not one bit inferior to Dong'er," Zhao Ling's eyes lit up.

"If I summon her now, doesn't that mean I'll have another beautiful wife? Awesome!!!"
