Chapter 6 Across the world

Across the world.

In various locations:

Red Rush was flirting with his gorgeous girlfriend in a sunny park.

Immortal Man had just launched a supervillain into space to stop a city-level detonation.

War Woman was reviewing third-quarter projections with her assistant.

Aquarius, deep beneath the ocean, lounged bored on his Atlantean throne.

Others — Green Ghost, Martian Man, Darkwing — all received the signal at once.

A full assembly call — only used in times of global crisis.

All Guardians responded without hesitation.

Red Rush arrived first, as always, tapping his foot impatiently for the others to catch up.

Eventually, the rest arrived. The last to show up was Darkwing in his stealth jet, screeching in at subsonic speed.

Watching the sleek, familiar ship land, Russell — perched on a snowy peak nearby — smiled.

"Looks like I got here just in time."

Not too early. Not too late.

Inside the spacious command hall—

"Darkwing, what's the emergency?" someone asked.

"Me? I didn't call anyone."

"But the signal came from your mark."

"That's impossible."

"What's going on?"

Confusion spread through the Guardians.

"System malfunction? Or… someone faked it?"

Before War Woman could finish, Red Rush's eyes widened.

He blurred forward — tackling Immortal Man to the side just in time to dodge a thunderous punch.

WHOOSH!

Omni-Man's fist screamed past them, missing by inches.

He landed, cape billowing, the force of his strike stirring a gale that chilled everyone in the room.

"Omni-Man?!"

"You forged the signal?!"

That wasn't a punch for sparring. The strongest hero on Earth had just tried to kill them.

WHOOM! WHOOM!

Darkwing launched a flurry of explosive batarangs.

War Woman hurled her hammer.

The Guardians attacked as one.

Their only hope now — take down Omni-Man… or die trying.

Darkwing didn't say a word as he flung explosive shurikens at the enemy.

War Woman leapt forward, swinging her warhammer straight at Omniman.

The others also launched their attacks simultaneously. In front of such a terrifying opponent, they didn't have even a millisecond to hesitate.

Surrounded and besieged by the entire Global Guardians team, Omniman calmly dodged their blows, his peripheral vision locked subtly onto one individual.

Red Rush — the fastest man on Earth. Without question.

Even he wasn't faster than that man.

Whether it was attacking, rescuing teammates like moments ago, or fleeing to report back, Red Rush was the one Omniman feared the most.

Crack!

Red Rush shot forward like a bolt of crimson lightning, landing a punch on Omniman.

Another punch. And another.

He struck Omniman repeatedly from all directions, his fists a blur, landing blow after blow — but all it did was make Omniman's head tilt slightly. Not a scratch was left on him.

Omniman stood firm, unmoving. His eyes darted rapidly, desperately trying to track Red Rush's movements.

"He's coming again… now!"

With lightning reflexes, Omniman predicted the next strike and reached out, catching Red Rush's arm mid-punch — immobilizing him — and then grabbed his head.

With both hands, he began to squeeze — like a hydraulic press intent on crushing Red Rush's skull.

Crack, crack!

A sickening crunch echoed from his skull under the pressure. Red Rush's eyes widened in terror. No one could comprehend the fear he felt at that moment. Pure survival instinct kicked in, and he fired a flurry of blows into Omniman's chest, faster than the eye could follow.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The heavy punches, packed with devastating kinetic force, broke through Omniman's bulletproof armor, leaving red streaks behind. Blood began to bead and seep from his bruised, reddening skin.

Shockwaves exploded out in rings. It was as if Omniman's chest had been struck by an 8.0 earthquake — his organs trembling, blood spurting from his mouth.

And yet… his eyes burned with the savage glare of a wolf sinking its teeth into a prey's throat, refusing to let go. He stared down Red Rush — one of his eyeballs now bulging from its crushed skull — and held him tight.

He was a battle-hardened elite from Viltrum, with thousands of years of brutal combat experience.

He knew that the only surefire way to eliminate this man… was through mutual destruction.

For prey caught in a wolf's jaws, the outcome had already been decided.

The horrifying counterforce shattered Red Rush's fists. Even as he pounded desperately against Omniman's chest like a man in shackles, it changed nothing. In the end, his head was crushed — utterly obliterated.

It looked slow, but it all happened in the blink of an eye.

The two were simply too fast — even Immortal and the others had no time to react.

"NO!!"

Seeing Red Rush die, Immortal and the rest were filled with shock and dread.

As long as Red Rush lived, they still had a chance to escape.

But with him gone, Omniman secretly breathed a sigh of relief. His eyes, cold and sharp like blades, swept across the others.

The moment he looked at someone, they froze. A chill raced up their spines — as if Death itself had seized them by the nape of the neck.

One by one, Immortal, War Woman, Martian Man, Green Ghost — all were slaughtered by Omniman like vegetables on a chopping block.

Darkwing was seized by the leg and smashed repeatedly into the ground until his body was pulp — his death the most horrific of all.

The Aquarian's head was smashed open like a watermelon using War Woman's warhammer, which Omniman had ripped from her hands.

Green Ghost, slower to react, had her head crushed by Omniman's claws in the blink of an eye. Along with it, he shattered the green stone that had granted her her intangible powers.

Martian Man, in a last-ditch effort, transformed his body like fabric to wrap around Omniman's arms — holding him in place to give War Woman and Immortal a chance to strike at his head. He caused some trouble.

But they were mere flesh wounds — nothing compared to the internal damage Red Rush's punches had caused.

Omniman tore Martian Man's body apart with his bare hands, yanked out his race's life core, and threw it aside like garbage. He then violently twisted War Woman's head backward and chopped off Immortal's head with a single brutal strike.

It was gore and brutality at its peak.

No one could have imagined that the once noble and kind Omniman — admired by humanity as Earth's strongest protector — had become such a bloodthirsty demon god.

The Global Guardians were annihilated.

Omniman, soaked in blood and gasping, knelt on the ground. Staring at his hands drenched in crimson, a deep weariness and revulsion washed over him. His body slumped, and he collapsed, seemingly unconscious from his injuries.

Silence.

— A deathly silence.

The Global Guardians' headquarters, which had just been shaking with the force of a natural disaster, was now eerily quiet.

Russell knew… it was time for him to enter.

He took a deep breath and stepped forward without hesitation — into the place where the most terrifying god of slaughter on Earth now resided.
