Absolute truth

“You can get out of there,” Hugo said in a tired tone.

Carmen couldn't blame him because she understood that once again, years of friendships that she couldn't determine had just ended because of him. It no longer made sense for her to blame herself because in the end, it was going to change absolutely nothing in her already pitiful situation. She just had to see it through to the end.

“I didn’t know he was coming, Carmen and I’m really sorry for what you heard. He often happens to be stupid, I assure you.”

“You don’t need to apologize Hugo. And for the person who follows me, we don't need to look from noon to two p.m. because it can only be Béa. If it was really Elio, he was going to admit that it was him. He showed up today at the hotel where the engagement was going to take place and again, he showed up here even though he didn't follow me because if he had followed me himself, he wasn't going to not doubt my presence.”
