A kiss of circumstance

“Can I know where we’re going, Elio?” Carmen asked with a pounding heart. The latter had left the Lieutenant's office with an anger that did not speak its name, believing that it was his fault if he was being accused unfairly. She had done everything to understand but it seems that he didn't want to tell her anything and it was starting to annoy her. He drove at full speed without worrying about his poor little heart which could no longer stand it.

“Elio, stop the car and get me out. I don’t want to continue the journey with you anymore.”

She hoped at least for once that he would obey her, but that was without counting on him. She was on the verge of damaging her seat belt because she was so clinging to it like her lifeline. She regretted why he had come to get her because there she was risking her life even more and yet she did not see what would have killed him in the cell.
