To say that she had slept all night would be a complete lie. Every time a semblance of sleep tried to take possession of her, she remembered the voice of this woman who told her that she was pregnant. She didn't want to believe because it was not possible to look at a person with the naked eye and know if they were pregnant or not. She kept measuring the size of her stomach with her hands and still didn't notice anything. Elio had been awake for a while and yet he didn't leave the bed. She needed to be alone to try other techniques but he was still there and she had to pretend to be asleep.
When she heard the sound of the bedroom door opening, she felt her husband make a sudden movement. She was curious to know what was happening but she couldn't open her eyes. she had an answer to her questions when a weight fell on her in a burst of laughter.
“Vega you have to be careful. Mama, still sleeping."
