The Message

He was shaken out of his thoughts when Venkatesh poked his shoulder with a worried look.

"Right..." Ishar muttered, a bit embarrassed, "...look at these. Can you understand what's written?"

Naren entered the room as well, staring at Venkatesh anxiously.

After a tense five minutes, when Ishar felt like he could explode from the suspense, Venkatesh looked up with the most frightened look he had ever seen.

Always remember, when someone strong and bold is scared, it is always something to be anxious about.

Ishar felt adrenaline rushing through his veins, and seeping into his mind.

Venkatesh slowly started,

"W-well it's Devanagri, a language that the ancients used to speak. And from what I understand, the aliens aren't exactly inviting us to an intergalactic party…"

He faltered off, as if afraid to speak next.

"Come on! Tell us." Dr. Tanvir urged him.

Naren looked too worried to speak. Ishar felt his heart thundering against his chest.

"It's a warning. A threat. And an alarming one at that. They are-", Venkatesh gulped down his fear,

"- They are asking us to return what we stole -the dimanium- in exchange for our lives. It's a bomb on a timer…and it goes off in a, well, 50 days. They say that if we give it back to them, they'll conquer us in a painless way, relieve us of our 'sins', but if our days are up, well then, it'll be as if hell descended upon india.

They'll attack us first and foremost, as a punishment, and then slowly relish our pain. And if my calculations are right…"

Ishar's felt himself go white.

He softly whispered, as if raising his voice by a decibel would embed the rising danger into his mind,

"...we have only 30 days left to save the world from destruction."

Yep. It was worse than a black out.

It was a small world. Ishar had never hesitated in accepting this. Maybe, it's only when you have to save the entire Earth from aliens, that you realize just how big the world is.

Who knew that India's biggest rivals yet, would turn out to be people (if you could even call them that) from another planet? However at this point, Ishar didn't feel scared. Nor did he feel depressed.

Instead, he felt raw anger coursing through his veins, blinding him of all sane emotions, and reasonable thinking.

How dare some aliens, from some planet, use some maniatic threat to attack his country, his Mother India?! Did they not realize how much lives matter? Did they not know that humanity and kindness still existed in his world?
