Chapter 9: Aya signs the contract! Survivors in the laboratory!
On the following morning...
Akira was completely full of energy, feeling refreshed, as if absolutely nothing had happened during the night.
On the other hand, Alyna and Aya were both with enormous dark circles under their eyes, their faces looked completely worn out, with visibly resentful and very shy expressions.
This man... he seems gentle and kind on the outside, but inside... he is exactly like a wild beast, ferocious and thirsty!
Tireless! Uncontrollable! Completely insatiable!
During the entire night until dawn, it seemed like the whole building itself was about to collapse, because of how much he made it shake with his movements!
The loud noise of his fierce thrusts against Hinata, together with the girl's high-pitched moans — that she sometimes just couldn't hold back — made both of them constantly imagine the scene happening right there in the room next door.
They absolutely couldn't close their eyes even for a single second during the entire night!
"Nozomi-san... No, Aya... have you really thought carefully about this?"
Akira asked directly, speaking in a loud, serious voice, while looking deeply into her eyes.
"Yes... yes, I have thought about it."
Aya looked straight into Akira's serious eyes, her cheeks became slightly red, but quickly organizing her mind, she answered with determination, nodding her head firmly in agreement.
Without saying even a single extra word, Akira took a carving knife out of his backpack, made a precise cut on the palm of his own hand, and squeezed it tightly, letting a thick stream of blood drip directly into a small metallic cup.
This action caught Aya and Alyna completely by surprise, making them both feel a little bit apprehensive, but before they could say anything or even react, Akira commanded with a firm tone.
"Drink."
He extended the cup directly towards her.
"This... this is the contract you were talking about...?"
Aya was visibly surprised, staring at it with a certain amount of hesitation.
She had thought it would be some kind of written contract, maybe even something symbolic, like an oath, a signature, or perhaps some more formal ritual...
Although, obviously... laws and contracts no longer have any meaning or value in this current apocalyptic world.
Still, without hesitating for too long, Nozomi Aya grabbed the cup, took a deep breath, and drank it all in one go without stopping.
The taste of the blood was strange... a bit metallic, dense and thick... but the very instant it went down her throat, her entire body was overwhelmed by a scalding wave of heat that rapidly spread through every single cell.
Her extreme exhaustion disappeared completely and instantly!
It felt as if her entire body had been immediately charged, filled with a brand new strength, endless, powerful, and absolutely intense!
Surprised, Aya grabbed the edge of the table, and when she squeezed it with just a little bit of strength... she directly lifted the heavy, solid wooden table — without the slightest bit of difficulty!
Even she herself was completely shocked beyond words.
"His blood... really has this kind of effect...?"
"This is simply unbelievable... it's just incredible!"
Alyna was watching everything with eyes full of envy, wishing she was in Aya's place right at that moment.
Because of that, Aya now felt within herself not only a huge sense of admiration but also an even stronger sense of dependence towards Akira.
Other than that... nothing else.
After signing this follower contract, the bond requires only absolute loyalty to the Master — Takayama Akira — but it does not affect consciousness nor freedom of thought in any way.
As for Hinata...
Well... that's different.
She didn't join him through any contract. She simply likes him — sincerely.
...
Right after that, Akira and Aya equipped themselves, put their backpacks on their shoulders, checked their weapons and supplies carefully, and then walked directly out of the apartment.
The objective for today was to proceed toward the main building of the laboratory.
The Medical Department of the University of Tokyo is one of the most advanced and prestigious in all of Japan.
It not only maintains direct partnerships with the three largest hospitals in Tokyo, but it also has an enormous emergency pharmaceutical warehouse.
According to the information provided by Aya, this medicine warehouse is located on the top floor of the main laboratory building.
Inside it, there is a massive quantity of extremely valuable medicines: antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, anesthetics, and even powerful stimulants like adrenaline, dopamine, and ephedrine.
In the current world, completely devastated by zombies, this is nothing less than pure gold! Things of truly immeasurable value!
However... as they got closer and closer to the laboratory building...
The number of zombies started to increase in a terrifying and frightening way.
The University of Tokyo has three large campuses, and the total number of professors, researchers, and students present in just a single campus reaches close to 20,000 people.
Because of that, both of them needed to move forward with extreme caution and maximum alertness.
If, by any small mistake or carelessness, they ended up getting surrounded by a massive tide of corpses, there was a very real risk that even zombies from the fifth floor could wake up and fall directly down here!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
They efficiently eliminated the zombies that were acting like security guards at the main entrance and managed to enter the laboratory building quickly, without suffering any immediate danger.
However, the interior of the hallways was simply completely packed with zombies everywhere.
At first glance, it was possible to see hundreds of them piling up together in that narrow space!
The majority of those undead were, without any doubt, students who had come to attend experimental classes. But when the virus broke out, they didn't have enough time to escape and ended up getting caught completely by surprise.
Now, turned into zombies, they wander endlessly through the hallways, without direction, without purpose, and without any consciousness at all.
When they arrived in front of the elevator door, Aya pressed the button to call it.
But... there was absolutely no response.
The elevator was completely out of service, totally broken.
If they wanted to go up, there was only one single option left: to use the emergency staircase.
However, the entrance to the staircase was located exactly at the very end of the hallway — precisely where a sea of zombies was completely blocking the entire way forward.
Without wasting even a single second, Akira decided to repeat an old trick.
But this time... he made an improvement to the technique!
He directly attached a small speaker to the drone, connected it via Bluetooth, and then started playing a very flashy, catchy, and extremely loud song.
Aya took control of the drone, making it fly directly above the heads of all the zombies in the hallway.
And then...
"Oh!"
"Ohhhh, yeeeh!"
"I used to think maybe you loved me now baby I'm sure"
"And I just can't wait till the day when you knock on my door"
"Now every time I go for the mailbox, gotta hold myself down"
"'Cause I just can't wait till you write me you're coming around"
"I'm walking on sunshine, wooah"
"I'm walking on sunshine, woooah"
"I'm walking on sunshine, woooah"
"And don't it feel good!"
The lively, vibrant, and extremely loud sound, with a 3D stereo effect, echoed and reverberated violently inside the ears of every single zombie present inside that entire building.
"Rughhhhhh!!!"
The zombies reacted instantly, letting out violent, beast-like roars, while running desperately after the drone flying over the upper part of the corridors.
At exactly the perfect moment, Akira and Aya took advantage of the opening and quickly infiltrated through the side hallway.
Fortunately, in the area near the emergency staircase, the number of zombies was much smaller, so the two of them managed to go upstairs quickly, without major problems.
Step after step, they climbed up until reaching the upper seventh floor.
When they arrived at the fireproof door, Aya tried to push it, but immediately realized that it was locked from the inside.
"Step back a little." — said Akira, taking a few steps back and bending his knees slightly to focus and concentrate his strength.
Right after that, he delivered a powerful kick directly against the door.
BOOM!
CRASH!
The heavy steel fireproof door, which had an impressive thickness of ten centimeters, was immediately blasted inward, collapsing to the floor with an absolutely deafening metallic crash!
Inside the laboratory, two survivors who were hiding in that place trembled in absolute fright, completely stunned and speechless.
"But... what the...!?"
They had been hiding there really well, in complete silence, firmly believing that nobody would ever find them — but suddenly the door was simply destroyed, as if it was nothing more than paper...
"You are...?" — One of the survivors, a skinny boy with glasses, stood momentarily stunned, staring at the duo.
The outside is completely taken over by zombies... How, after all, did these two people manage to show up here, so casually, as if it was nothing at all?
And this door is really, truly very weak!
At this exact moment, the man of medium height noticed Aya, and his eyes immediately started shining intensely with excitement.
Isn't she exactly that famous beauty from the school?
I never imagined that she would still be alive in this horrible apocalypse!
As for Akira, he also did not expect that there were other survivors still hiding here.
He only noticed it when he saw the vending machine completely destroyed and smashed to pieces.
It seems that these two had been hiding here since the very beginning of the deadly virus outbreak.
"We are simply here just to get the medicines."
"And as fair compensation for breaking the gate, I can take both of you outside of this laboratory building."
"Anyway, your food is already completely gone, and you won't be able to last much longer staying here."
Akira said this in a very direct way, without any beating around the bush, and with total calmness.
"But in the pharmacy, there's still..."
Before the guy with glasses could even finish his sentence, he was immediately interrupted by the man with short hair.
"No problem at all, it's just about grabbing some medicine, right? There's plenty of stuff left here."
"The medicine storage is right here, come with me, I'll personally take you straight there."
The man with the medium build was extremely enthusiastic, smiling in a very suspicious and sneaky way.
While talking, he discreetly blinked, in a very clear and secretive way, at the man with glasses.
The guy with glasses was clearly hesitant for a few seconds, then lowered his head, stayed completely silent, and didn't say a single word anymore.
The four of them walked together until they arrived in front of a gate made entirely of reinforced metal alloy.
The man with the unshaven beard grabbed the key, carefully unlocked the door, and threw a very direct, fixed stare straight at Akira.
"Go inside and grab by yourself everything you want, I won't go with you inside."
"Alright then, I'll go take the medicine. You wait for me right here outside."
Akira answered that while looking directly at Aya, keeping his composure and total calm.
Then, he placed his backpack onto his back and walked straight in the direction of the medicine storage room.
Click.
As soon as he stepped inside the storage room, the door was immediately locked from the outside, in a totally treacherous and sneaky way.
"Roaaar!"
In the dim light, several zombies dressed in white lab coats rushed furiously, running straight in his direction.
Obviously, that stubborn-headed man already knew very well that there were zombies hidden inside there, and even so, he deliberately set up this trap with full intention of deceiving Akira.
The objective, of course, is Nozomi Aya, who was left outside, vulnerable, completely at the mercy of them.
Or... at least, that's exactly what they thought.
Akira lightly shook his head, let out a long, heavy sigh, and said:
"Pretending to be all nice just to attack from behind in a treacherous, backstabbing way..."
"Two complete and utterly useless idiots."
For sure, they are about to have a very nice surprise when they try messing with her.
...
