Ashen never wanted to be a Pokémon trainer.



While other kids dreamed of badges and adventures, he dreamed of safety — of a quiet life with his mother, far from the chaos of battling monsters. But fate is cruel.



One day, a wild Charizard sets their home ablaze. Ashen survives. His mother doesn't.



Left with scars, both physical and mental, and a paralyzing fear of Fire-types, Ashen is thrown into a world. Homeless and alone, he's forced into the Orphan Kids Program — a government initiative that gives displaced children a starter Pokémon.



Haunted by his past and hunted by his fears, Ashen’s journey will test his limits, challenge his beliefs, and force him to confront the true meaning of strength.
