Across from Arthur, Heisenberg looked at the shivering burly man and let out a cold smile.
"Arthur!"
He said.
"Have you figured out how to deal with my spear yet?"
"Me…?!?!"
Arthur froze, not even having a chance to react before Heisenberg hurled Gungnir, which instantly pierced through his waist!
"Ah!!!"
After a painful scream, Arthur looked at the spear piercing his waist and began to wail in agony.
"Oh God, just give me a moment to think, I can still think!!!"
"Think my ass, I've told you countless times, your physique is decent but nowhere near Diana's or Clark's, let alone mine!
If you're outmatched in every way and still decide to charge into battle bare-handed, then I don't have time to humor you!"
As his words fell, Heisenberg summoned Gungnir back with his right hand, the spear reversing its course mid-air.
Seeing this, Arthur's body trembled, and in the next second, he desperately gripped the hilt of Gungnir protruding from his body, letting out a mournful cry.
"Wait, just wait, pulling it out will hurt even more ttttt… Ahhhh!!!"
Amid Arthur's wails, Heisenberg smirked, casually manipulating the force field to hurl the constantly regenerating Arthur away.
He then lifted Gungnir and lightly slammed it into the arena floor, laughing.
"I've said it before, I won't hold back, nor will I waste time with you. After I point out your flaws, come up with solutions immediately.
If you still have the same issues when you face me again, don't blame me for finishing you off!"
"Yes!"
Under Heisenberg's gaze, Clark's body trembled, and he reflexively stood up.
As he floated toward the arena, he couldn't help but mutter.
"Grandpa, Arthur's issue is manageable; you advised him to find a suitable weapon.
But I need to constantly improve my combat skills, and skills aren't as easy to master as wielding a weapon!"
"So, isn't bloody combat the best way to hone your skills?
Come on!!!"
Heisenberg sneered, then leaped forward in an instant.
Just as Clark braced himself, he felt his body lighten, and suddenly he was falling upward!
Yes, Heisenberg had altered the local gravity, making the sky Clark's ground.
Struggling to adapt to the force field Heisenberg controlled, Clark constantly adjusted his posture to follow the shifting space. In the next moment, he flew toward Heisenberg upside down.
Heisenberg's manipulation wasn't over. Just as Clark adjusted to being upside down, the gravity shifted to his left rear.
This left Clark utterly frustrated. The changing force field and gravity meant he hadn't even exchanged blows with Heisenberg before he was already at a complete disadvantage.
Interrupted by the constantly shifting force field, Clark was instantly pinned to the ground by Heisenberg's thrown Gungnir.
Not only that, Heisenberg spread his legs, straddling Clark and standing above him.
Whenever Clark tried to break free, Heisenberg simply landed a punch, disrupting his movements.
Heat vision and frost breath alternated, leaving Clark utterly bewildered by the onslaught.
This brutal beating lasted a full ten minutes!
Feeling the continuous tremors from the center of the arena, Mera took a deep breath.
"Kaldur's turns are better; at least we get some rest when it's his turn!"
"Waaaah, but my Clark's getting beaten so badly!!!"
Lois wept uncontrollably. Grandpa was just too harsh.
No Kryptonian parent would train their child like this; he's treating them like Spartans!
Hearing Lois's cries, the nearby Amazon warriors frowned in annoyance.
"Woman from the outside, stop crying. Your tears desecrate the sacred arena!"
"Right, why cry like the weak? True warriors should fight like this!"
"If I had this rapid regeneration, I'd want my comrades to beat my guts out every day!
That way, I'd grow stronger beyond my imagination!"
"Yeah, yeah!"
The group of Amazon warriors turned and glared at Diana, who was resting nearby.
Under their intense stares, Diana tensed up, gripping her shield tightly and shouting.
"What are you looking at? My guts have been beaten out three times already, three whole times!!!"
"Cough, Diana…"
The warrior closest to Diana hesitated, then whispered.
"You're a demigod, the child of Zeus himself. Surely your words would carry weight with the Sun God.
Can you ask him to let his sunlight linger in the arena a bit longer? We're not fighting 24/7, so can we use the remaining time to practice too?"
As her words fell, Young Flash's eyes lit up.
"I second that!!!"
He eagerly shouted.
"We've been fighting for over six hours now. We can't hog the arena forever, right?
Diana, let's go talk to the Sun God together and give the Amazons more opportunities!!!"
"Hehe…"
Diana's laughter was filled with hidden meaning.
She chuckled, shaking her head.
"If you want to talk, go ahead. I'm no different from my sisters; I enjoy this constant dance with death.
As for you…"
She gave Young Flash a deep look.
"I hope it's just my sisters' charms blinding you, not fear.
If you're scared, I'll really look down on you, hehe…"
"What charms blinding me…???"
Diana's words left Young Flash stunned, realizing whose arms he was in.
Instantly, his pale cheeks flushed red, and he frantically struggled in the Amazon's embrace.
In the distant arena, Heisenberg's punch shattered Clark's jawbone, the crisp crack making Clark want to scream in pain.
But helplessly, he couldn't even open his mouth, so he could only grit his teeth.
What terrified him most was that Heisenberg wasn't done. With a wave of his right hand, the molten Chaos Blade materialized.
Whoosh!
A dull thud, and Clark felt his left chest grow hot as his entire left shoulder and arm were severed by Heisenberg.
"Ahhhhhh!!!"
A series of screams erupted from Lois, the bloody scene causing the poor journalist to cry so hard her nose ran.
Lois, who had seen her share of horrors, wasn't faint-hearted, but she wished she could pass out.
That way, she wouldn't have to watch her husband suffer such terrifying injuries!
Fortunately, an Amazon warrior nearby seemed to hear her plea.
Bam!!!
A sharp hand strike knocked Lois unconscious.
The grating noise finally ceased, and the warrior sighed deeply.
"Damn, that was annoying!"
She muttered, then continued shouting at the arena.
"Nice job!!!"
"So intense!!!"
"That's what I'm talking about!!!"
"Take his head off!!!"
"Kill him, you're dead!!!"
"You're dead!!!"
Amid the earth-shattering roars of excitement, Heisenberg grabbed Clark and hurled him away.
Clark struggled to his feet, his face contorted in pain, while Heisenberg took the opportunity to speak.
"Compared to earlier, your reaction to severe injury has improved.
Now, attack me while you're still conscious.
Don't you think your current state is perfect for experiencing a near-death counterattack?"
"I…"
Clark froze, clenching his remaining right fist tightly.
He moved his slowly regenerating jawbone and softly encouraged himself.
"You're right, I'm Superman… Ugh!!!"
Gungnir pierced straight through Clark's chest, leaving him completely immobilized.
Seeing this, Heisenberg chuckled.
"I said I'd give you a chance, but that doesn't mean I actually will, hehe.
I can give it, but I won't—just playing~, haha!!!"
His laughter made Mera shudder violently in the distance.
Watching Heisenberg retract Gungnir and reattach Clark's limbs, Mera's shuddering intensified.
After tending to Clark's injuries, Heisenberg casually tossed him to the nearby Amazons for assistance.
Then he pointed in Mera's direction.
"What are you shuddering for? It's your turn, future Queen of Atlantis!!!"
"I don't want to be queen anymore, waaaaah!!!"
Mera was on the verge of tears, wondering how she'd die this time.
It was too terrifying; gods were just too terrifying!!!
As Mera struggled to her feet, Hippolyta suddenly rose from the crowd.
With a sweep of her cloak, the Amazons near her began to sit down one by one, the arena falling silent.
Once the arena was quiet, Hippolyta steadied herself and shouted an explanation to Heisenberg.
"My liege, the Amazons have prepared a feast to honor you and the heroes."
"Oh!"
Heisenberg nodded, glancing at the moonlit sky.
"Alright then, let's eat!"
With that, he retracted the Chaos Blade into his armor and tucked Gungnir back into his pocket.
Around him, countless Amazon women cheered like a tidal wave, ancient warrior chants echoing through the arena.
Torch-bearing warriors exited first, lining the path from the arena to the banquet hall in two rows, their flickering flames stretching endlessly.
Under Hippolyta's welcome, Heisenberg strode out of the arena gates. Whenever he passed by torchbearers, they would kneel respectfully, their eyes fixed on his back.
Though they rarely received a response, Heisenberg was deep in conversation with Hippolyta.
"Bruce is probably still poring over ancient texts. Have someone fetch him to the banquet hall.
Otherwise, with his personality, he might not come out!"
"Yes, my liege, I've already sent someone!" Hippolyta smiled.
…
As the group led by the two grew distant, the cheers in the arena gradually faded, allowing Arthur and the others to breathe a sigh of relief.
Only when Heisenberg was out of sight did Arthur finally mutter.
"I'll probably have to dive back into the sea to find a suitable weapon. Heisenberg's right; bare-handed, I'm no match!"
"Is it really a weapon issue? I'm almost too embarrassed to correct you."
Mera shuddered, jokingly venting her stress, causing Arthur to roll his eyes.
Though annoyed, Arthur had no retort. To change the subject, he summoned a stream of water and splashed it on Lois's face.
Waking from her faint, Lois stared blankly for a moment, then grabbed Mera's hand and asked tearfully.
"Where's my husband?"
…
Hearing this, Mera glanced in the distance and shook her head.
"He's… still dead…"
"Waaaaah!!!"
