why should it happen

Be assured, I am neither a pervert nor confessing my love to you

The man extended his hand to help the young boy, who had stumbled and fallen upon seeing a man who looked exactly like him. The boy hesitated, thinking to himself,

*If I take the hand of this weird guy who looks just like me, it can't possibly hurt, right?

Hearing the boy's thoughts annoyed the man, and he grabbed the boy's hand forcefully, pulling him to his feet.

Be gentle you face–coping clown!

The man exhaled slowly, deliberately—then locked eyes with the boy. A chill filled the air.

"Stop being dramatic, Soren"

The boy straightened up becacuse he had a feeling that this is not the guy one should mess with

"M-Mister, don't be mad! I was just surprised to see someone with my face, so I reacted that way. By the way... are you some kind of twin separated at birth? Or maybe a clone? Wait, there could be so many possibilities! Oh! Maybe it's—"

Soren was about to continue when he noticed the man's face—his expression clearly showing growing impatience. The boy had always been good at reading people, especially when they were about to snap. As a middle child, he'd learned that skill early, thanks to countless scoldings (and the occasional beating) from his older siblings

"I like the fact that you finally understand when to shut up"

The man expression softened slightly , as he placed his hands on Soren shoulder

What I am about to say , you must listen patiently–or I will just kill you

Soren's skin prickled, every hair standing on end. His pupils dilated, and his heartbeat quickened. He didn't know why he was so afraid, but something about the man in front of him made him want to close his eyes and vanish. He didn't utter a single word after that chilling warning.

The men glanced at sorens expression, and after a second of silence, stepped back and–burst into laughter

I can't believe you git scared by that! Seriously ?

Soren was in disbelief.

Is this guy messing with me? Damn it—I can't even think straight. He can read my thoughts and might get even angrier.

The man finally stopped laughing, but the amused grin stayed on his face. Then, out of nowhere, two chairs appeared behind him. They were carved from polished wood and adorned with delicate flowers and leaves, making them look exquisitely beautiful. With a graceful motion, the man extended his arm toward the chair, his fingers unfurling in a silent command to sit

Soren, already afraid that the man would kick his ass if he didn't follow his command, moved toward the chair and sat down.

The man took the seat beside him, which was slightly larger than Soren's. He looked completely relaxed, sitting cross-legged with his head tilted and that same weird grin still plastered on his face.

"I think I should introduce myself. And don't worry—you don't need to introduce yourself. I already know everything about you. Ah—off-topic again. Where was I? Oh, right—my name. It's Zephyr. And after this meeting, it's going to be your name too."

Zephyr's last sentence hit Soren like a punch to the chest. His heart began to race, and no matter how hard he tried to push the thought away, it clung to him. He knew the man in front of him could hear his thoughts—but sometimes, your own mind doesn't listen to reason.

*What is he even saying? Why would I take his name? I thought I transmigrated into someone's body a while ago, but I've never read a novel or seen a series where the soul they replace talks to them. And this guy... he feels way too real to just be a soul

"Ah, I'm not just some dead guy's soul. I'm very much alive—and I'll be living in your body, while you'll be living in mine. Don't worry, I was just messing with you earlier. You looked like an easy target. I won't actually hurt you. Is

Zephyr didn't look like the same person anymore. There was something different—calmer, maybe softer. His face had this expression that made it seem like even if someone said something completely out of line, he wouldn't get angry. Like he'd just… let it slide.so looking at his expression Soren decided to try his luck

"Uh, actually… will I still have my own face? I kinda like it. And why should I even switch places with you? What if I just refuse?"

Zephyr looked at him, smirked, and said with a smug expression,

"Did I ever say you had a choice?"

Soren face turned gloomy

Soren's face darkened.

"Are you not aware of basic human rights?"

Zephyr didn't react to Soren words at all and after ignoring Soren for a while he answered

Zephyr didn't react at first. He ignored Soren for a moment, then finally answered,

"Yes, I'm aware of human rights. I just don't give a damn about them. And I think our little meeting is about to end.

But since I'm a gentleman, I'll grant you one final wish."

Soren was in state of inner turmoil . He didn't know what to say or do. He could not even move–something invisible seemed to be binding him, locking his body in place.

"And you can't return to your old body—because I arrived after it died."

Soren's face went pale again and he was about to say something when zephyr continued

"I'll give you a choice—do you want my memories or not?

Just a suggestion: don't take them. Consider this advice my final act of kindness."

Soren thought, First, he says I'm going to take his place. And now? Now he's telling me I won't even get his memories? Just like that—'figure it out, survive however you can.'

What kind of deal even is this?

Zephyr had clearly expected that kind of reaction. He chuckled, and suddenly, something like a document materialized in Soren's hands.

It looked old—like antique parchment—but it was completely blank.

"I'll give you my memories—but for your own sake, they'll come to you gradually, not all at once," Zephyr explained.

"And if you're ever too dumb to figure something out, just write your question on that paper. You'll get the answer. But it only works twenty-four times. After that, it's useless. Oh—and it only works here, in this special space. So, you'll have to figure out how to return here on your own."

He paused, smiled faintly.

"Now, it's time to say goodbye."

Zephyr smiled once more, and suddenly, everything around them began to collapse.

In an instant, the world shattered into pieces—and there was nothing left but darkness.
