The Arrest

Jaewook blinked.

His ears still rang from her voice.

"Let my husband go."

The words echoed in his head like a bell he never thought he'd hear.

Hyun Soo, frozen behind the wall, whispered:

"Did she just—?"

Clatter.

Hyun Soo's phone hit the floor. Again.

Kang Ho's finger hovered over the trigger, eyes wide.

Dojin?

He stared at his daughter as if she were a ghost.

"You grew," he said, smiling like a wolf in decay.

Minah didn't flinch.

"I did."

"Without you."

She stepped between him and Jaewook.

Jaewook, still stunned, could only breathe her name.

Minah...

She locked eyes with the man who had ruined her past.

> "Let us go."

Dojin tilted his head, amused.

"You're braver than I thought."

"Then tell me—can you die for someone?"

Minah's gaze was steel.

"I can."

"But you won't be able to kill me."

That hit him harder than any bullet.

Because for once—

He saw it in her eyes.

She wasn't scared.

She wasn't cornered.

She was free.

And then—

"FREEZE!"

A chorus of heavy boots and loaded rifles stormed the corridor.

Multiple red laser sights dotted Dojin's chest and arms.

"Park Dojin," a commanding voice declared,

"You are under arrest for crimes including illegal human experimentation, conspiracy, kidnapping, and attempted murder."

"Put the weapon down—NOW."

Dojin looked around.

He was surrounded.

Outnumbered.

Outplayed.

His eyes returned to Minah one last time.

And for the first time—

He looked small.

He lowered the gun.

---

As officers cuffed him, Jaewook finally exhaled.

Minah turned to him slowly.

Jaewook didn't say anything.

He just pulled her into his arms.

Tight.

As if now he could finally breathe.

And Minah?

She let him.

Because she wasn't running anymore.

---

Minah won.
