Chapter 39: You Judge People So Well!

"This is too exaggerated."

The players stared dumbfounded at the rain falling from the sky.

They knew Pokémon had all kinds of abilities.

Especially veteran players like Ethan Carter, who had personally witnessed battles between Pokémon.

The moves they used were miraculous, but still somewhat acceptable.

But what was going on with this Poliwhirl?

It just patted its belly a few times and directly changed the weather. This was completely unbelievable!

"It makes no sense. In reality, artificial rain requires dispersing catalysts into clouds to make raindrops quickly condense and grow larger, then form rainfall."

"In other words, artificial rain requires clouds as a prerequisite. But just now the sky was completely clear with no clouds at all. How did it make it rain?"

Ethan Carter was full of curiosity.

"You're talking about science in a game world? Are you out of your mind?"

Dylan mocked him from the side.

"Uh... force of habit, force of habit."

Ethan Carter scratched his head awkwardly. This game was too realistic, so he kept trying to use real-world theories to explain things happening in the game.

After a while, the dark clouds dispersed and the weather cleared up again.

"Actually, this move isn't that amazing. Even though it can change the weather, the rainfall range and amount can't compare to normal rainy weather."

Leaf wrung the water out of his clothes.

At first, he was also shocked, but he quickly realized the rainfall range wasn't large. Only their few plots of farmland had rain, while everywhere else was still sunny.

The other players also gradually calmed down, noticing this as well.

"True. It's just that changing the weather is so unbelievable that it made us overlook other aspects."

"But this amount of rain is enough to irrigate the fields. Do you guys want to share the rental with me?"

Ethan Carter asked the other four players.

Their farmland plots were all connected, so sharing the rental of Poliwhirl would be much more cost-effective than renting individually.

The other four players naturally wanted to share too. Even though they said they didn't care how much debt they were in, they still wanted to reduce the burden a little.

So Ethan Carter represented them in expressing their wish to Leon to rent Poliwhirl.

"The five of you want to share Poliwhirl? Of course, no problem. It's just that Poliwhirl isn't in great condition right now and needs a couple days to rest."

"For these two days, you can use five Poliwags instead of Poliwhirl. The rental price stays the same. Once Poliwhirl has recovered in a couple days, you can switch back."

The five players discussed it and saw no downside, so they agreed.

After completing the transaction with the players, Leon returned to the castle and settled Poliwhirl and the others in.

As it was almost time for the players to log off, Leon decided to check on how the new players were doing.

As soon as he stepped out of the castle, he was stopped by a new player.

"Respected Lord Leon, hello. I am a new visitor from the divine realm who just entered this world today."

"I'm bothering you this time to make a small suggestion."

"Oh? Go ahead."

Leon looked at the player named Lin Murphy with interest.

If he remembered correctly, this was the only new player that SilentTongue had brought along.

SilentTongue had given him many pleasant surprises these past few days, and the new player he brought was interesting too, immediately making suggestions to him.

"I noticed there are no public restrooms in our town. Most residents relieve themselves wherever they please, with only a few using chamber pots at home."

"But after they finish, they dump the waste from the chamber pots directly onto the streets. This easily splashes onto passersby and makes the whole street reek!"

When mentioning how it could splash onto people, Lin Murphy's voice rose—he had nearly been hit by flying waste while repairing a house earlier!

"Dumping waste so casually not only pollutes the town's environment but also easily breeds and spreads all kinds of diseases."

"So I suggest building public restrooms in town so residents can relieve themselves in designated places."

"This would not only improve sanitation but also allow the collection of waste to make compost, increasing crop yields. It's killing two birds with one stone. I hope you'll consider this suggestion."

After speaking, Lin Murphy nervously glanced at Leon, relieved to see he didn't seem angry.

Earlier that morning, Ethan Carter had explained Leon's importance in this game to him.

He was afraid his words might anger Leon, since he was pointing out flaws in how Leon governed the territory.

But he had no choice. He had a bit of a cleanliness obsession—not severe, but he couldn't stand the filthy environment in town.

The streets were covered in waste, and you could accidentally step on a surprise at any moment.

If this were any other game, it'd be fine since it's just through a screen and you can't feel anything. Lin Murphy might even praise the game for its attention to detail.

But this was a damn virtual reality game! He could actually smell the stench, and stepping in waste felt completely real, just like the "stepping-on-waste sensation" advertised by sneaker brands in real life!

This realism was driving him crazy. He had already decided—if Leon didn't accept his suggestion this time, he'd... he'd... he'd just suggest it again later!

What else could he do? This was the only virtual reality game. There was no way he'd quit over a few piles of crap.

Fortunately, Leon was very receptive to his suggestion.

"You're right. Our town really does need to build a few public restrooms."

Actually, Leon had already noticed the town's sanitation problem, but he had been busy with other matters and hadn't gotten around to fixing it yet.

Now that a player had brought it up, he might as well deal with it now.

Leon didn't want to get hit in the head by flying waste while walking down the street someday.

But how to solve this problem? He didn't know how to build a restroom.

Leon fell into thought.

"Um... if Lord Leon has no other orders, I'll take my leave now."

Lin Murphy spoke cautiously to Leon. He still needed to go to the quest hall to collect his reward for repairing the house.

"Alright, you can go... Wait!"

Leon suddenly thought of a solution.

He might not know how to build a restroom, but he could make the players do it!

Leon looked Lin Murphy up and down, then said to him:

"Ahem. Since this was your suggestion, you'll be in charge of building these public restrooms."

"Me? Build restrooms? But I don't know how!"

Lin Murphy looked at him in shock. He had only made a suggestion, not expecting to get involved himself.

"You don't know how? But I heard from other divine realm visitors that you're very skilled at construction and management in the divine realm."

"That's just in games! I'm all talk. Earlier today while repairing a house, people said I was just making a mess..."

"Say no more. I have high hopes for you. I believe you can do it!"

"No, even if you believe in me, it doesn't matter. I really don't know how."

"Once construction is complete, I'll reward you with usage rights to a plot of farmland, plus a special reward."

"You judge people so well! I'm great at building restrooms!"
