Chapter 73: Forcing Her to Act

Seeing Su Wanwan's bluster, Qiao Zhen laughed mockingly, utterly oblivious to the fate that awaited him. "They say Bear Da is brainless—this description fits Miss Su quite perfectly."

A cold glint flickered briefly in Su Wanwan's eyes, brimming with deadly intent. Swiftly, she seized the wine bottle on the table, forcing its neck into Qiao Zhen's gaping mouth with a ferocious laugh.

Before Qiao Zhen could react, the bottle's mouth jabbed directly into his throat. He choked uncontrollably. The next moment, Su Wanwan tugged hard. The harsh scrape of glass against teeth rang out sharply.

Crack—shards of broken glass scattered wildly inside Qiao Zhen's mouth, tearing dozens of deep gashes in an instant. Blood gushed forth uncontrollably. Pain reddened his eyes; tears streamed freely without restraint.

A man over six feet tall, yet subdued so decisively by Su Wanwan. Li Maya gasped in shock, covering her mouth in terror, as if she could almost feel that excruciating pain herself.

"To force me to act… that is your own doing." Su Wanwan's tone was arrogant, her eyes freezing over with an eternal, unmelting chill.

Qiao Zhen whimpered, rooted to the spot, tongue pressed against his throat, fearful that he might accidentally swallow the bloodied glass shards.

At this moment, a tremendous noise erupted in the eighteenth-floor office of Paige Group!

A foreign man with chestnut hair slicked back, piercing blue eyes, dressed in a suit, tumbled from a swaying leather chair onto the floor. He rubbed his eyes in disbelief, staring repeatedly at the caller ID on his phone.

The next second, he sprang up like the wind, a striking figure racing out.

His rapid footsteps echoed as he reached the elevator and frantically pressed the buttons—but the elevator continued descending, showing no intention of stopping.

A secretary in the office stared at the agitated vice president in confusion and asked, "Is something wrong? Is there an emergency? May I assist you?"

"Damn it!" The man slammed his fist into the wall and growled over his shoulder, "Isn't this the president's private elevator? Since when did everyone get to use it?"

The secretary was stunned by his outburst, responding blankly, "You both said the company rules were relaxed, so we…"

"Damn it!" He cursed and stormed toward the emergency stairwell, descending four steps at a time. The secretary hurried after him anxiously.

He rushed down to the first floor and burst into the office amid everyone's astonished gazes. The scene inside was chaotic.

Liang Yihang knew well this matter could no longer be contained. "Su Wanwan! Release him!" No one dared step forward or move her, fearing they might only deepen Qiao Zhen's injuries.

Suddenly, the door was forcefully kicked open. Su Wanwan's icy gaze swept across the panting newcomer. Upon seeing him, her blue eyes brightened like crystal sapphires.

"Su!"

"It really is you!"

He dashed forward without hesitation, embracing Su Wanwan tightly, utterly disregarding the injured Qiao Zhen beside them.

"Su! You're finally back!"

The onlookers exchanged bewildered glances, uncertain of the situation. Only Qiao Zhen stood frozen, pupils constricting as if witnessing something truly horrifying.

The man held Su Wanwan like a child pleading for candy. Such behavior left the employees watching at the door dumbfounded. When had they ever seen the vice president lose control like this? Who was this woman?

Sensing the violent aura radiating from Su Wanwan, the man gradually calmed and cast a glance at Qiao Zhen. Knowing Su Wanwan for years, he understood she rarely struck without reason. This man must have provoked her.

"What's going on?"

Liang Yihang recognized the vice president from photos; no doubt it was him. Could Su Wanwan be connected to him somehow?

Hearing the man speak in English, Liang Yihang stepped forward with a smile, ready to explain. "It's like this—"

But the man's expression suddenly darkened.

"Was I speaking to you?"

Liang Yihang was embarrassed. The man turned with a beaming smile, his mood shifting completely.

"Su, what happened? Did he bully you?"

Qiao Zhen shook his head desperately and frantically.

The other Ye Group employees, unable to understand English, grew anxious, eager to learn what was being said. The secretary glanced at them and asked fluently in Chinese, "Are you together?"

"Yes, yes! We're here to discuss cooperation! Could you translate their conversation for us?"

"Of course, it's my duty."

If not for Su Wanwan's presence, the secretary would never have bothered.

Su Wanwan shot a sharp glance at Qiao Zhen, her tone cutting.

"Xize, your company can't even recruit properly?"

"Accepting scum like him?"

Xize replied candidly, slightly embarrassed.

"Resign!"

"Immediately!"

"If it's anyone you dislike, Su, I'll fire them at once!"

Qiao Zhen spat out glass shards, enraged. Each word pierced his mouth like needles.

"Why?"

"Who gave you the right to decide my fate?"

"Just because she's your mistress?"

Xize's expression turned icy, the temperature dropping to a frigid zero. He raised his foot and mercilessly kicked Qiao Zhen to the ground.

"Do you even realize what you're saying?"

To him, Su Wanwan was like the unattainable sky.

"Hmph. If not, why do you protect her so fiercely?"

"She insulted me first, she—"

Xize cut him off.

"She holds our company's fate in her hands. What do you think?"

Qiao Zhen was dumbfounded. What… did that mean? The company's fate lay in this woman's hands?

"That's right. Just as you think."

Xize added with a smile.

Qiao Zhen shook his head in disbelief.

"Impossible… absolutely impossible…"

When he first joined Paige Group, he knew it wasn't an independent entity but was acquired by a mysterious, powerful corporation that let them operate freely. From president to janitor, no one had been replaced.

Could it be… Su Wanwan was the one who took over their company? That was inconceivable! How could a barely twenty-year-old girl…

Su Wanwan turned, a faint smile with a venomous edge curling on her lips.

"Seems you've also abandoned your claim to those two roads on Central Avenue."

Xize met her gaze with resolve.

"We want them!"

"Of course we do!"

"Su, this was my oversight. I can't believe such a fool bullied you."

"Rest assured, I won't let him off easily!"
