Time seemed to accelerate within the walls of U.A. High. The intensity of their internships and the shadow of All For One spurred Class 1-A to push themselves harder than ever. Soon, the dreaded final written exams were over, their knowledge of hero law, ethics, and Quirk theory put to the test. With those hurdles cleared, the focus shifted to the practical.
The tension in the air was palpable as the students prepared for their practical exams. The format was daunting: students would be divided into pairs, and they would fight against U.A. teachers. It was a true test of their combined might, strategic thinking, and ability to work under pressure against seasoned Pro Heroes.
Minato found himself paired with Koji Koda, the quiet and gentle student with the Anivoice Quirk, a seemingly unusual combination. Their opponent was the formidable Cementoss, the block-like hero who could manipulate concrete with incredible precision. The arena became a constantly shifting maze of hardened cement walls and pillars.
Despite Cementoss's powerful environmental control, Minato and Koda worked seamlessly. Koda, using his Quirk, communicated with a swarm of pigeons to distract Cementoss and pinpoint his precise location even when he was obscured by his own creations. This gave Minato the opening he needed. Activating his Lightning Chakra Mode, Minato became a shimmering blue streak, weaving through the rapidly forming cement barriers. He moved too fast for Cementoss to fully enclose him, and with a series of precise, Chakra-enhanced strikes, he quickly incapacitated the hero, securing their easy victory. Minato and Koda passed their exam with flying colors, leaving Cementoss impressed by their teamwork and Minato's raw speed.
After the practical exams concluded for the day, and as the other students began to disperse, Nezu's voice, amplified over the intercom, gently requested Minato to stay behind. Aizawa, who had been observing the exams, came to collect him. A sense of significant anticipation settled over Minato as Aizawa led him away from the main exam area.
Their path led them to Ground Delta, a vast, desolate training ground usually reserved for large-scale demolitions or highly destructive Quirks. Standing there, waiting, were Aizawa, Midnight, Cementoss, Present Mic, and even Number 13, the Space Hero. And then, at the very center, stood All Might, his muscular form radiating an almost overwhelming aura of power.
Nezu's voice, calm and clear, then came over hidden speakers. "Minato-kun, this is your true final exam. The one we discussed. This is the ultimate practical assessment that will determine your eligibility for early graduation."
All Might stepped forward, a serious, yet respectful, look on his face. "Young Namikaze," he boomed, his voice resonating with power, "for this test, I will not be holding back. I will be using my full power, without the weights I employed for Midoriya and Bakugo. Consider this a true battle against a Symbol of Peace at his current peak."
Minato's eyes narrowed, his own resolve hardening. This was it. The true test.
From an observatory room high above, Principal Nezu, along with the other Pro Heroes, watched with intense focus. "This is unprecedented," Midnight murmured, a rare somberness in her tone. "All Might even in his current state at full power... against a first-year."
"Minato's speed is incredible, but All Might's raw strength is another league entirely," Cementoss added, his block-like head tilted.
"He's been holding back so much, hasn't he?" Present Mic whispered, his usual boisterousness replaced by quiet awe.
Down on the barren training ground, All Might and Minato stood face to face. The air crackled with anticipation, a silent tension building between the two powerhouses. Minato took a deep breath, his stance shifting, readying himself. All Might adopted his signature fighting pose, muscles rippling.
"BEGIN!"
All Might exploded forward. Not with a casual leap, but a burst of sheer force that cratered the ground beneath his feet. His fist, radiating raw power, aimed directly for Minato. It wasn't a feint; it was a devastating, direct strike.
Minato didn't dodge; he vanished. Activating his Lightning Chakra Mode instantly, he became a blue blur. He reappeared a dozen meters to All Might's left, a shimmer of light in the hero's peripheral vision.
All Might's momentum carried him forward, his fist tearing through the air where Minato had been a split second before, leaving a shockwave that kicked up dust. "Too slow, Young Namikaze!" he roared, already pivoting.
Minato didn't respond with words. Instead, he initiated a flurry of Flying Thunder God kunai throws. They appeared from seemingly nowhere, flashing through the air at impossible speeds, each embedded with his unique teleportation seal.
All Might effortlessly swatted away the first few kunai with gusts of wind from his movements, but Minato's aim was precise, not meant to harm, but to tag. One kunai, almost imperceptibly, landed squarely on All Might's cape, sticking firm.
In that same instant, Minato was gone again, teleporting directly behind All Might, aiming a swift, Chakra-enhanced kick at the hero's back.
All Might, thanks to his immense battle experience and finely honed danger sense, reacted without conscious thought. He twisted, his back muscles bunching, blocking the kick with his arm. The impact still sent a tremor through the ground.
"Impressive speed!" All Might boomed, but Minato was already spiraling away, appearing on the ground beside the kunai that had tagged All Might's cape.
Minato his movements fluid and precise. As chakra began to coalesce in his right hand. "Rasengan!" he muttered, concentrating.
All Might, seeing the technique from their previous encounter, knew its destructive potential. He lunged, attempting to close the distance before the attack could be fully formed. "Not this time!"
But Minato was baiting him. As All Might's fist lunged, Minato instantly activated the seal on the kunai on All Might's cape, teleporting behind him mid-lunge.
He reappeared, not with a Rasengan, but with a new technique: a rapidly growing Giant Rasengan, nearly the size of his torso, already swirling with destructive force.
All Might's eyes widened in surprise, caught in a vulnerable position. He twisted, throwing an improvised backhand punch, imbued with One For All.
The Giant Rasengan met All Might's punch. A thunderous explosion ripped through the air. The Rasengan met the concussive force of All Might's blow, creating a vacuum that buckled the very ground.
Minato was thrown back by the backlash, but All Might was forced to skid several meters, leaving deep gouges in the concrete, a rare grimace on his face. "Remarkable! A technique that can match One For All head-on!" he thought, impressed.
In the observatory, Present Mic whistled. "WOAH! Did you see that?! Minato just pushed All Might back!"
"His spatial manipulation is perfectly suited to All Might's direct combat style," Aizawa noted, his scarf subtly shifting, a flicker of pride in his usually tired eyes.
All Might recovered quickly, realizing he needed to adjust his strategy. He focused his power, radiating an aura of immense pressure. "UNITED STATES OF SMASH!" he bellowed, a focused, hurricane-force punch tearing through the air.
Minato then moved, not with a teleport, but with pure speed, darting around All Might like a golden streak. He threw dozens of Flying Thunder God kunai around All Might, creating a complex, inescapable web of teleportation points.
All Might tried to intercept, unleashing powerful air pressure blasts, but Minato was too quick, weaving through the blasts like water.
Once the web was set, Minato vanished. He reappeared behind All Might, then instantly switched to a kunai above, then to one below, creating multiple afterimages that confused the hero's perception.
"Which one is real?!" All Might muttered, his senses strained, trying to pinpoint the true Minato amidst the visual trickery.
Suddenly, Minato appeared directly in front of All Might, holding a Rasengan in each hand, both pulsating with raw energy.
All Might roared, unleashing a furious barrage of punches, a tornado of fists aimed at Minato. "DETROIT SMASH! OKLAHOMA SMASH! TEXAS SMASH!"
Minato, using his space-time prowess, weaved through the first two punches, ducking and shifting, barely avoiding the powerful impacts. He then slammed one Rasengan into All Might's side, creating a localized shockwave that made the hero grunt in pain.
Before All Might could recover, Minato teleported, reappearing above him, aiming the second Rasengan downwards.
All Might quickly threw an arm up, forming an "X" to block. The Rasengan hit his forearm, and for a moment, the ground beneath them shook violently as the forces clashed.
A crack appeared in the concrete beneath All Might's feet, spreading outwards like a spiderweb. His arm trembled visibly, pushing back against the spiraling force.
"He's pushing All Might back!" No. 13 gasped from the observatory, her voice laced with awe.
All Might, realizing Minato's tenacity, pushed his power even further, veins bulging, muscles flexing to their absolute limit. He let out a final, raw roar, a burst of power that finally forced Minato to disengage.
Minato launched himself back, creating distance, a respectful look on his face. He recognized the sheer, indomitable will of All Might.
All Might stood, chest heaving, a thin stream of blood escaping the corner of his mouth. He was pushed to his absolute limit, his body trembling slightly, but his eyes burned with fierce determination. "You... you truly are something else, Young Namikaze," he panted, a wide, challenging grin returning to his face.
Minato, though less outwardly fatigued, could feel the strain. His Chakra reserves were being taxed by the continuous high-speed movement and powerful jutsus. He gave All Might a bow, a gesture of respect.
"The future of heroes... is bright," All Might managed to say, before his muscles visibly spasmed, and he slowly, uncontrollably, began to deflate. The fight was over.
In the observatory, Nezu clapped his paws, a wide, triumphant smile on his face. "He passed. Unquestionably."
