Chapter 113: A Rejected Advance

Three days had passed since Seraphina's violent altercation with Lilith, and I still couldn't get the image out of my mind. Blood splattered across her nightgown, eyes blazing with a fury I'd never seen before. She had finally stood up for herself, and despite the violence of it, I felt proud of her.

I watched Seraphina now as she glided into the breakfast room, her blonde hair cascading down her back like liquid gold. Gone was the timid, broken girl we had tormented for years. In her place stood a woman with ice in her veins and fire in her eyes. She took her seat at the table with the grace of a queen, her face a mask of cold indifference.

"Good morning, Seraphina," I said, unable to keep the admiration from my voice.

She barely spared me a glance. "Ronan."

Even the way she said my name had changed. No fear. No trembling. Just cool detachment.

"You look beautiful today," I continued, ignoring the warning looks from my brothers.
