Chapter Seventy Three
Jacob's POV
Lucianna was still in bed, sleeping and probably tired because of what we did last night. I can't say I go easy on her because I didn't. I can't. Her scent is intoxicating, inviting, alluring me to stay.
Her pregnancy has helped her libido to rise, not that she wasn't all ready when it comes to bed but Lucianna now is on a different level.
I was getting ready for work, in which I am late, when I sensed my brother's presence.
Roscoe was lurking around, I can feel it. He is not directing his steps towards the house but walking around. It seems he was inspecting.
With a frown in the forehead, I decided to move and get out of the house before he could come in front.
"Please tell me you have a thing for house structures, brother." I said with a small laugh once I was out of the house. "Otherwise, you'll creep the hell out of my mate."
Roscoe came out from the side, his hands were on his pocket as he slowly stride closer to where I stand.
"I didn't know you're still home, brother." he smirked. "Nor did I sense you. Why were you concealing your presence?"
I almost frown but held my reaction quickly. I did not conceal my presence, heck I'm simply getting ready for work.
Roscoe might have noticed something because his brows raised so I immediately talked.
"The question here, brother, is why were you lurking around my house with the thought that I'm not home." I watched him look away. "It is not your great intention to talk to my mate behind my back, right?"
He looked at me, a glimpse of his face paling is what I noticed.
"Of course, not." he cleared his throat. "Though I have something I want to ask her that I do not know if you already know…"
I raised a brow. "What? The abortion?" I said nonchalant.
His eyes squinted.
Oh, my brother did not expect my mate will really talk to me about that, huh? "Lucianna and I talked about it and there is no way we'll agree to that."
Roscoe frowned. "Not what I saw in your mate's face, brother."
"Is that your plan? For Lucianna to carry the burden? Is that why you wanted to talk things with her alone?"
Roscoe rolled his eyes. "Come on, I even told her to ask you first."
"But you're hoping she might not, right? That she might decide on her own again like she did before."
I know my brother. He might want to do good, and wanted all the goods to come but he is a manipulative person. So him thinking that aborting our child is the good thing to do means he has a plan.
"Stop what you are thinking, Roscoe. We are not gonna lose this pup."
A loud sigh came out of my brother's mouth and it was far from relief.
"You are not thinking straight, Jake." he clicked his tongue. "The thing you want to raise is a son of the diablo! Don't you realize what will happen to you?" he walked to me in huge steps and stopped right in front of me. "You will be sucked like air! Your own child will absorb you to have your power, to feed its own greed!"
"I am not killing my child, Ros." I said in a calm voice and sigh before looking away. My brother is so deep into this that I start to think he is going insane.
"You are starting a life that will soon end yours, Jacob!"
"I don't care." I shrugged.
Roscoe's nose is flaring and I know he is angry. Though what's the difference of the look of an angered person and a mad one? I personally think he's going mad.
"Why is it so hard for you to just kill the pup, Jake?"
I inhaled. "Can you hear yourself?" I asked hoping he will answer his own stupid question.
"But at least it will buy us time to know more, Jake! Imagine if Fhoxia can find more information that will help us but we won't have time. It will be a waste."
I understand where he was coming from and even though a part of me wanted to agree, there is no way I'm adding more pain in our relationship than it already has.
"It's not happening, Roscoe, because there is no solution. And even if I agree with the abortion, there's this uncanny pull between Lucianna and I--"
"Then do the abortion and have Lucianna go miles away to stop--"
My brother didn't had the chance to finish his sentence because my palm got in contact with his neck. Choking the fuck out of him.
His face turned red, an immediate indication that his oxygen ways are interrupted and the scene couldn't be more appealing into my eyes.
"You managed to drove my mate away from me once. What made you think you may do it twice, brother?" I tightened my hand around his neck for a few more seconds before finally releasing him. He coughed nonstop. "Stop obsessing with trying to save my life, Roscoe. I never wished to be saved and I never asked for your help."
I walked away from him and headed to the house, hoping any noise didn't woke Lucianna but Roscoe talked so I stopped.
"I hope you are doing the right thing." he said in a weak voice.
"Life should have a room for mistakes." I answered and opened the door.
"I know your mate will do the right thing." he said before disappearing. The door was ajar while I stopped on my tracks. I might not want to kill the pup but Roscoe has a point.
If Lucianna will think of killing it, I wouldn't know. Or even if I would, I may be too late. She's the one carrying the child, after all.
But I am hoping she wouldn't, not now that she also knew my say in this.

Lucianna's POV
'Jacob? What time will you be home?'
I reached him through our link. It's already late and I haven't heard from him. I woke up this morning and he was already at work. Now, he hasn't come home when he was supposed to three hours ago.
Harley yawned beside me. We were watching a movie and has already eaten dinner. I was too famished to wait for Jacob since I'm also eating for two.
"I wonder what's wrong with Jake. He should be here hours ago." Harley said without breaking his eyes from the screen.
"Did you call Brent?" I asked.
"Yeah, Brent was out of the pack land to do some business with another pack. He'll be back by dawn so he have no idea what's gotten with the alpha."
This sucks.
Its not like Jacob to do this kind of thing. He always call or reach to me if he will be late or even early.
Suddenly, a loud thud was heard outside the house. My nose flared, trying to smell if we got company because I'm certain that the noise were paws landing.
A werewolf.
"I'll check it." Harley stood up. "Stay here."
Of course, I won't stay. I followed Harley, keeping a safe distance behind him. He opened the door and we didn't heard any more noise coming from outside.
Harley seems to be waiting for another thud or I don't know his deal but I nudge him.
"Just open it." I gritted my teeth.
"I told you to stay--fine!" he sighed.
He held the knob and we both gasped when we saw what's going on outside.
"Jacob?!"
"Jake?"
There was Jacob, laying flat on the ground and he was complete naked. Huffing and sweating so bad, he looked too weak.
"Did you go for a run in your… wolf form?" Harley asked in a whisper. We both can't believe it.
Jacob looked at us, his eyes barely moving to open up and he continued huffing hard.
What the hell happened?
