Jaxon arrived at the office earlier than ever. He needed a private moment with Isla, and he knew she always started work early.

The moment he set his briefcase on the desk, he began pacing, running through the words in his head. He’d spent the entire night thinking about what to say, yet nothing felt right.

"Guess I’ll just… go with the flow," he muttered under his breath. But as he turned to resume pacing, the soft ding of the elevator echoed through the office.

His heart jumped. He strode toward his door, anticipation tightening in his chest. And just as he had expected—it was Isla.

She stepped out of the elevator, her head slightly lowered, her breaths coming fast. She could already tell he was here—the faint trace of his cologne lingered in the air.

“Isla.”

Her steps halted immediately at the sound of his voice. Slowly, she lifted her gaze to meet his.
