Chapter 92: A Meeting of Monarchs

The portal bloomed once more in the Lunaris courtyard as a ceremonial procession emerged: Morinaka retainers in floral armor, elite shinobi cloaked in mist robes, and at their head—Masaki Morinaka, regal and calm, beside his son.

The palace guards bowed in astonishment at the majestic display.

In the Moonfang throne room, King Fenryl and Queen Lysara stood from their thrones as the Morinaka delegation entered. Princess Irylia's eyes flickered with both nervousness and hope.

Masaki and Fenryl exchanged firm nods, warrior to warrior.

Masaki was the first to speak.

"I am Masaki Morinaka, Daimyo of the Land of Flowers. My son has told me of your daughter's heart, and the bond she wishes to form. I have come to see if such a union shall also bind our nations—in peace, strength, and trust."

King Fenryl narrowed his eyes. "And what of your son's other wives?"

"They are aware. They are respected. My son did not choose lightly. But Irylia would not be just a fourth wife. She would be his moonlight. His equal. And with her, his destiny expands beyond any one nation."

Queen Lysara stepped forward. "And you, Lord Masaki… would you accept her into your clan? Into your bloodline?"

Masaki turned, gaze steady on Irylia. "If she is strong enough to love my son with her whole heart… then she will be more than accepted."

Silence reigned for a moment longer—then Fenryl spoke, rising.

"Then let this be the beginning of a new chapter. We will continue these talks, but know this: the Moonfangs do not give their daughter to those who cannot stand beside her in storm and fire."

Masaki smirked. "Then we are in agreement. My son has survived both."

And just like that, the alliance was born in frost and flowers.
