However, he had played Honor of Kings a lot, and with his Observation Haki's ability to see the future, he had never lost unless he purposely lost the game.
And so,
Under the witness of live broadcast cameras worldwide, the most crazy method for the Summit War's final battle was born:
Honor of Kings!
Ace, on the execution platform, never expected his fate to be decided by a game!
Ron put away his phone, his eyes sweeping across the four groups like lightning.
The sea wind blew, making his gray cloak flutter to show faint purple marks underneath.
"Since we're playing, let's go all out," he said, his voice not loud, but clear to everyone present. "The Marines, Whitebeard Pirates, Beast Pirates, and Red Hair Pirates—all four groups will join."
He then took out his phone and began to explain the rules of the competition:
"Each side will send five main players and two backups. It will be a best-of-three series." Ron's eyes swept over the leaders of each group in turn. "Now, please confirm your players."
The Marine camp right away stirred.
Everyone looked at each other.
Garp was the first to jump out, his fists cracking. "Bwahahaha! Let this old man have a go at that old bastard Whitebeard!"
Ever since Honor of Kings came out, he had played it every day, and having collected five permanent heroes, he was unbeaten in matchmaking.
Akainu's entire face was as black as the bottom of a pot, and magma dripped from between his fingers. "This childish game..." He glared at Ron, grinding his teeth, but under Sengoku's stern look, he still reluctantly took a step forward. "Hmph!"
Although he wasn't very good at playing, with his talent, he wouldn't be too bad at least.
If it wasn't for the need of high-level fighters, Sengoku would have already had other Vice Admirals replace Akainu. He then wondered why Kizaru had been gone for so long and still hadn't dealt with Doflamingo?
Had he gone somewhere for a vacation?
Aokiji lazily raised his hand. "Ah... then..." He slowly pulled out a frost-covered phone from his pocket, yawning. "Anyway, I'm just free..."
He then sat down in a seat in the back, took out his phone, and waited to be invited.
Sengoku could only make the best of a bad situation. Honor of Kings had just come out, and everyone had played for the same amount of time. He didn't believe the other side's skill would be stronger than theirs.
"Good! Then it'll be me, Garp, Akainu, Aokiji as main players..." He paused, then looked at Tsuru, saying softly, "Tsuru, you support, and my Luban is really good."
Tsuru: ...
Then Sengoku looked at the reluctant Akainu. "Sakazuki, what position are you playing?"
Akainu's magma fists made creaking sounds. He slightly tilted his ear, and a helper beside him quickly whispered, "Angela is simple, Admiral, play Angela!"
Then Akainu reluctantly said in a cold voice, "...Angela." His voice was so low it was almost not heard.
"What?" Garp dug in his ears.
"Angela!!!" Akainu roared in anger, his entire face turning red. "What's wrong?! Can't I?!"
The entire place instantly fell silent for three seconds.
"Pfft—" Garp was the first to burst out laughing. "Sakazuki, you're actually playing a female hero... Oh~ how surprising~ Bwahahaha!"
Aokiji's icy face couldn't hold back, almost laughing. "Arara... I didn't expect..."
Garp finally fell on the ground, laughing. "Bwahahaha! The magma boy playing the fire girl! What a perfect match!"
Sengoku's old face twitched as he struggled to hold back his laughter. "Good... good... Then I'll play Luban No.7, Garp will be in the top lane, Aokiji will be the jungler, Tsuru will support..." He glanced at Akainu, who was burning with anger. "...Akainu will play Angela."
Just then, Staff Officer Tsuru suddenly stepped forward. "Wait, Fleet Admiral."
She pushed up her glasses. "According to the rules, two backups are needed. Since Kizaru isn't here..." Her eyes swept to the back. "Then let Tokikake and Gion join."
Tokikake cried with a long face, "I only know how to play Zhuangzi..."
Gion snorted coldly, "I'll play Mulan."
And so, the Marine team was finally confirmed:
Main players: Sengoku, Garp, Aokiji, Akainu, Tsuru
Backups: Tokikake, Gion
After hearing the Marine's lineup, Whitebeard turned to his captains.
"Gurarararara, those who know how to play that 'Honor of Kings' game, step forward for Pops!"
The deck right away stirred.
First Division Commander Marco changed into his Phoenix form and flew into the air. "Pops, I often play with you, count me in." His phone case even had a Phoenix pattern on it.
It was a decoration he made for his phone when he was free, unique and perfectly telling it apart from others' phones.
Otherwise, if a bunch of phones fell on the ground, no one would know whose was whose.
Third Division Commander Jozu's diamond arm shimmered. "Although my hand speed is slow, I'm good at playing tanks like Zhang Fei." The phone he pulled out was three times the size of a regular phone, and it was even covered in a diamond phone case.
Fifth Division Commander Vista elegantly drew his twin swords. "I specialize in Musashi, which perfectly matches my dual-wielding style."
He then looked at Marco. "Marco, you promised to draw on my phone case. When are you going to start?"
"Haha, don't worry, Vista, after we rescue Ace, I'll draw yours first!"
"Alright!"
Whitey Bay ran over from her icebreaker. "Pops! I'm really good at playing Sun Ce! I even got a penta kill last time!"
Finally, the five players for the battle were picked, and the other captains sighed in frustration:
"Damn it! I wish I had practiced too!"
"I only know how to play Arthur..."
"I play Angela better than Akainu!"
"..."
Whitebeard looked at his lineup with satisfaction, his large hand heavily patting the deck. "Gurarararara! Good! I'll lead the team myself!"
He turned to Ron. "Our Whitebeard Pirates' lineup is:
-Whitebeard
-Marco
-Jozu
-Vista
-Whitey Bay
The backups are:
-Blamenco
-Curiel
Whitebeard proudly waved his phone toward the Marine side. "Sengoku! Watch how I'll smash your Luban No.7 with Cheng Yaojin this time! It's time to get revenge for last time!"
Marco added from the side, "Pops drags us to solo until dawn every day to practice his hero."
Jozu smiled honestly, "Pops's Cheng Yaojin is especially fierce at diving towers and getting kills."
Vista elegantly wiped his phone screen. "I will use Musashi to 'take good care' of Admiral Akainu's Angela."
